If you believe some of the minnesota and american WJC fans who have seen him quite a bit, they say he's on par with Duchene/Kane/Schenn. And again the question marks he has are the same that Parise had.
"The biggest surprise among the upper-body strength measurements was University of Minnesota center Jordan Schroeder. Despite measuring in at 5-8.25 and 175 pounds, he did 17 repetitions of 150 pounds on the bench press, one fewer than the leaders -- Saginaw right wing Jordan Szwarz, Erie center Ryan O'Reilly and Swedish forward Carl Klingberg"
Take back what I said about no impact players being available by the 22nd pick.
This guy could be huge for Vancouver in a few years.
I also think Gillis should trade up to get Elliott...there aren't a lot of offensive dmen left and Elliott is a very smart kid...which is something Gillis loves...
Seriously speaking where does this leave our Center depth down the line? I mean Schroeder has the potential to reach as high as a 1st line centerman and with that our center depth would be Henrik, Kesler, Hodgson and Schroeder with that said you would think one of them would have to leave?
Looks like we could grab Elliott in the 2nd round.
Perhaps trade up in the 2nd using our 3rd or 4th?
I'd love to see exactly this happen. We do need quantity of prospects but if you have the opportunity to leave the draft with Schroeder + Elliot (or the other quality guys who will be available in the early 2nd), do it.
