Past season in the QMJHL he had a record of 43-11 with a 2.05 goals against and .930 sv%

Potential for a steal?

EDIT: In playoffs he had a 2.03 gaa and a .936 sv%

He was an overager, I'm not going to hold my breath.

I think they'll probably bring him to the AHL next year though, he's 20 and he has nothing left to accomplish in junior.

Obviously, after being passed over twice, he made his hay just this past season. Numbers don't look that good before this past season.

I like the pick, but I'm hoping he's not a product of a good Moncton team.

Now that I see he was an early 89, I'm much less excited. Hopefully he can turn into something.

Ahh true I didnt see that. But hey it's a 5th rounder and he could be a late bloomer. Look at Erikson, he looks better then Deserres and they were 2 rounds apart.

Is the over-ager part as big a deal since he is a goalie?

I don't like the whole 5'11 thing. Kinda small.

Sort of.

Being one of the oldest and most experienced players in the league should gain better results. He's improved every year, but his numbers as an 18 and 19 year old were just okay.

Hopefully not, but considering the jump from his 07-08 year to his 08-09 year, it seems like it may have been a fairly significant factor.

drafting by need, bulk goalies

let me guess the next pick will also be a goalie. i guess if we take enough of them 1 guy is gonna make the bigs.

I think clearly the Flyers are assessing he's a late bloomer in this case. Let's hope that's the variable in play here

I'm just going with the late bloomer thing . Hey there are other 20 yr olds in the QMJHL, maybe it just took him longer to rise. Meh, for some reason I have a good feeling about this guy.

Same here there is something about him that I like. I dont know why. If he's getting better with age that can only be a plus for the Flyers

It just seems like less of an issue with a goalie. Because no matter who he playing against he should probably be using the same technique.
