Morningside and Virginia-Highlands are nice areas. And if you are a young and looking for good local nightlife nearby, you can't go wrong with an apartment in the Virginia-Highlands/Poncey-Highlands area.
And the best part, you can eat breakfast at the Majestic Diner.
After reading forums on internet, I think I would like to live in Virginia Highland. I want somewhere near Emory and also close to bars and malls. Do you think I can find an appartment for 800$/month or less in VH?

Excellent choice, Piedmont Park is great during the hot summer days and there are always concerts going on at the 50 million bars and clubs around. Plus closer to Phillips to catch all the Thrashers games.
I think most residents of Sugarloaf CC would disagree on the "most prestigious" title. It's all about what you're looking for from where you live, imho.
sugarloaf = Gaudy, new money, OTP Mcmansions, Not prestigious what so ever.
which is why the Nouveau Rich aka Thrashers players love it

At $800 it will be a tiny garage sized one bedroom in VA Highlands probably. If you want more for your $ look in "Poncey Highlands" or "Little 5 points" area, which is on the south side of Ponce road, but cheaper.
Also a popular place for young hipster crowd is East Atlanta Village which is further south of Emory's campus. Good places to eat and see bands if you're into that.
I gotta tell you nothing is better than playing hockey outside in winter, breathing fresh air and playing for hours nonstop. Thing is we always get our feet freezed up but it was always worthed!
Hi guys, I'm moving to Atlanta this september to start a new career at Emory University. I'm from Montreal, a great city for hockey! I'm wondering if you guys have arenas in Atlanta to play pickup ice hockey or adult hockey leagues. I'm used to play twice a week the whole year here in Montreal. Are there a lot of hockey fans in Atlanta and is it easy to find a league to play hockey? Thanks!
Compared to Montreal, Atlanta might seem like the 7th level of Hell but there are more hockey fans in Atlanta than you would imagine. Most of the rinks are in the suburbs but i know people who play and I also work at Emory. Send me an e-mail.

lol are you saying this just because of the temperature or because its not as much of a hockey town as montreal?
this thread has made me finally decide to start playing again. i played a year of juniors and a year for KSU's club team. i decided to take some time off and that turned in to about 3 years. time to get back in shape even if it is for only mens league.
anybody know off hand if any AAA teams need goalies?
