Turris vs Berglund

If you're starting a team, need someone who can step in and play at a good level in the next 5 years, who do you pick?

that was a fairly weak draft year though. Turris hasn't really done much outside of the BCHL.

I think Berglund will be the better player.

Answer to this question: Turris. I dont see Berglund putting up huge numbers (i think his next season wont be as good as this was) but Turris, i can see him lighten it up in few years.

That's odd. He was tearing it up for half a season and hit a conditioning wall. He was obviously exhausted. Do you think that half a season was a fluke? All he has to do is improve his conditioning alone and he'll get significantly better numbers.

Plus, with Kariya back and full seasons of McDonald and Oshie, Berglund will have more protection, likely putting him against lower defensive pairings. And Boyes, Oshie, Perron, and EJ are all righties, meaning Berglund won't see reduced time on the powerplay - he's their only real left-handed shooting threat on the powerplay. And none of that considers improvement from his linemates.

Yea, I'm a Blues fan, but I would say 25-30 goals and 30-35 assists is a perfectly conservative estimate based just on his first half production in 07-08. He's probably not physically ready for a breakout larger than that, but it's not out of the question.

I said that based on what i saw from him in the playoffs and at the wc. Especially in the national tournament he was awfull. Maybe because he was tired after long season? - i dont know.

No doubt in my mind he will be great player, but i think/hope Turris will be bigger scoring threat in few years.
