What would he cost the Bruins?
It's really hard to say what the Leafs would want for White. The fans and management love him here. Most Leaf fans would probably want a ridiculous overpayment for him because they would hate to see him go.

On some nights I honestly thought he was the Leafs best D-man on the ice.

Chuck Kobasew and Andrew Ference are in their prime and on bargain contracts for what they bring. The Bruins won't be just giving them away. I can understand if the Leafs would rather keep Pogge and hope he turns it around, but referring to Chuck and Andy as salary dumps is extremely off base. When healthy, Ference plays top-4 minutes on a 1st place team and Kobasew is a sparkplug 25 goal wing with a strong all around game.

So terrible that Blake and Poni would both be 3rd on your teams scoring so I guess that would mean their better then most of your team. Hell Stajan would be 5th and everyone sees him as a third line center. Maybe it's the Bruins players that are a touch overated?

Look at the OP and think again.

Blake and Poni would be getting 3rd line minutes here, so I don't think they'd flourish.

Stajan on the other hand would be great. Put him as the 3rd line C and shift Bergeron to wing...

Funny you'd say that. I thought that too some nights. Most fans from other teams don't even acknowledge him and talk as though he's a fringe NHL'er. Everyone was in an uproar when he made Canada's WHC roster.

If that's your thinking about Stajan then there's your missing piece in the Kessel trade.

Why add when they are the ones in cap trouble?

Anyone who thinks the Leafs wouldn't do this trade is a complete fool. End of story. They are going to let him go anyhow so why wouldn't they want Kobasew and/or Ference back.
