Not that I'm sad to see Roli gone from the Oilers, but whaaaa, not having a goaltender anymore makes me nervous.

Great signing. He can be a 1b if DiPietro is healthy, but he can also be a starter if he's not. I'm a bit surprised Roli didn't sign in Edmonton, but they must have somebody else in mind.

If they can get Khabibulin, would be good for the oliers.

Dramatic upgrade for the Isles if DiPietro is done.

Horrible deal. He's over the hill. Doesn't matter though because NYI will finish dead last.

Maybe that's the goal.

John Tavares would look mighty good with Taylor Hall.

I wish it was only 1 year, but I like the signing. Niitymaki would've been a nice option too.

Islanders won't be in the Taylor Hall race next year IMO. The Isles are a pretty good team when the entire team is healthy, especially DiPietro.

Somebody is going to be excited to warm up the bench and watch his successor for the next couple of years. Wang is an idiot. Why would NYU sign a starter when they already have a "franchise player" as he once called DiPietro?

I give them credit for signing Roloson, they are really trying to compete next season and thats not going to be a possibility with injured Dipietro or guys like Danis / McDonald.

No...he went to the Isles for more money than the Oilers offered him. Whether it was a one or two year deal, it was most likely his last contract.

I honestly don`t mind that he left. He wasn`t in our long term plans anyway. A one year deal (which is what was offered to him) would have been fine, but for a guy his age, it`s risky to offer any more than that.

Hopefully we can get another number 1 goalie.

In his interview with TSN...it sounds like it came down to Roloson wanting a 2 year deal, which Edmonton was only going to give him one.
