Haha, Brashear is better than Orr but not worth $1.4 Million.

Maybe the next talentless goon will sign for $2 Million? Gotta be a GM dumb enough, Gainey or Murray maybe?

Maybe Trade Expert Sather can trade away Free Agency Buffoon Sather. Sigh.

Nice signing. Brashear almost won a fight against Shanahan once.

Stan Fischler really likes this signing. Says he'd rather Brashear at 1.4 than Orr at 1.0.

This move obviously makes us cup favorites.
It'd be pretty hard since Betts' check never touched Brashear's elbow.

  3. He's absolutely ******* at times and we have needed that for a while
  4. Torts can use him as a true attack dog as he's had no problems going after guys in the past

No doubt he's better than most other 4th line goons, but an enforcer with no real hockey skill other than punching people is tough to justify at $1.4 Million/year.

Brashear doesn't have scoring skill, but he's a heavy hitter (unlike Orr) and a decent enough skater to keep up with the play AND make his hits hurt that much more.

Same can be said of Orr, and we got Brash for less years. the more I think about this, the more I'm getting comfortable with it.

He's also a very solid forechecker. He's a much better player than people give him credit for. Rangers fans will love him by the middle of the season.

Waste of $1.4 million when Tortorella rarely plays the fourth line, but at least we have a goon to protect our little sissy team.

Why is this major news? The Rangers overpaid for a player who will not make much anyway, and is not likely to be a major factor.

If it wasn't for the craziness of the Gomez trade, this thread would be empty.

Actually I think Brashear is a pretty good player for an Enforcer type. He does have some scoring ability. I know he always gives Brodeur headaches.

Have you actually seen Brashear lately? You just waved good riddance to your heavyweight that doesn't stick up for teammates and only fights heavyweights, for the exact same thing with an added 400 thousand against the cap. Which you said Sather wouldn't do.

I think you should slide on back to that Colton Orr thread you were trolling and apologize to the Leafs fans you were so adamantly "debating with."
