Ian Laperriere

Quote:
Iíll have a story in tomorrowís print edition about Ian Laperriere, and his days as a member of the Avalanche being over.
Iíll save the details until then, but itís definitely over for Lappy in Colorado - barring a miracle. The sides are miles apart on contract terms, and itís not going to be bridged by July 1

Easily worth 2 years at 1.85 per.

Great on the PK, leadership, protects teammates, has some hands.

Will be a great signing for whichever lucky club gets him. My hope is the Maple Leafs.

Giguere should have dealt him at the deadline.

He'll be a fan favourite wherever he ends up. We just can't afford to overpay for a 35 year old 4th liner.

He'll always be one of my favourites. Good luck Lappy.

Hard to say. He probably wants to go to a contender, but a contender likely doesn't have the cap room to overpay 4th liner.

This is the right move for both parties, Laperriere does not fit in with the direction the team is moving and it doesn't make sense for the Avs to overpay a 4th liner. Would be a good fit on a contender (San Jose?) or a team looking to make the playoffs.

I don't think he is worth the 2 million he is apparently asking for but 1.5 seems fair.

As an LA fan I'd love to have him back. Lappy would be a great asset for just about every team because he's a great hockey player. The guy gives the most possible every game and improves the environment in any room he steps into.

Team guy, decent skill, tough, willing to skate thru a wall for the his linemates.

Yeah, I'd love to have the guy in back LA, besides I bet he still has that Crown tattoo on his butt that Deano loves to see.

I'd take him in Dallas in a heartbeat. This is a team player and a guy who puts it all on the line, every game.

Anyone have his email address so I can tell him Dallas is waiting?

If Edmonton can trade Cogs they should offer him 2.2 per for 3 years.

Hate to see Lappy go, but paying up so much for a 4th-liner his age is not an option for us.

You really comparing Lappy to Avery?? Or just trolling? Lappy's quite the opposite of Avery [see; not poison]

Geez is he really 35? I thought he was younger than that. Anyway I'd love him on the Habs on a 1-year deal.

I want to see him play in Washington. I think he could add a lot to that team.

I would love to see this happen. Or even if he came here to Philly, but I hope he ends up back with the Kings.

Wherever he goes, I'll root for him.

I can't do anything but shake my head at how the Avs organization handled this.

I can't do anything but shake my head at how the Avs have handled this entire offseason. The Avs front office is a disgrace!

Depending on his asking price, I wouldn't make seeing the Canucks sign him even though it appears they have a glut of bottom 6 forwards at the moment.
