Wait...how are the Canadiens, the Rangers and the Blackhawks signing all of these players? They are all in Cap Hell and the Kings have more cap room then all of them.....
The Rangers managed to dump Gomez. Gaborik almost exactly fills in that salary void. The Canadiens had like half their team go into free agency. So they've swapped Koivu, Tanguay, Kovalev, and Komisarek for Gomez, Cammalleri, Gionta, and Spacek.
Hawks also had 12+ freed up between Havlat and Khabibulin. They can free up another 2.33 million by hiding Brent Sopel in the minors as well. They won't be in cap hell until next season when Kane, Toews, and Keith are RFA. Unless somebody throws Penner-esque offer sheets at Versteeg or Barker.
It's funny how our "fans" say Lombardi has done nothing and has dropped the ball, but fans from other teams say, so far we have been shut out. Weird how fans from other teams are more in tune with reality than people on here are...
I'd have singed Gaborik to that deal. Gaborik is a high risk/high reward signing and I'm ready for the Kings to take a gamble.
The thing that I really liked about the idea was seeing what Gaborik can do when his whole team's gameplan isn't 99% defense first. Of course, the risk part of it could bite the Ranger's in the ass too.
What the **** does "shut out" mean? Are you really of the opinion and buying into the ******** that star players don't want to play here? This reminds me of Ahmadinejad telling people that the 130% voter turnout around Iran doesn't smack of any wrongdoing and it's all US, Britian and Israel's fault...I mean, are you serious because the level of obtuseness is giving me a migraine.
