Good deal for the Coyotes, they need defense.

He's still a decent #4-5 guy. He will get you at least half a dozen goals, if not more.

Lotta ex Flames down there in Phoenix.

He was a stud for the Islanders.

And then the new NHL happened, apparently.

I can only conclude that he wanted to get as far away from professional hockey as possible.

He had a decent offensive season with Calgary with about 10 goals and some PP time. Wasn't a huge liability on defense. Wouldn't have minded seeing him back with a paycut if there was room. Best of luck.

He is a great team player and will be missed in Calgary. If Bouwmeester wasn't signed I am sure he would still be a Flame.

Good Luck AA.

Aucion should be a strong addition to the Coyotes' blue line.

Pretty sure Maloney has said something like that, too. Might have been last year, though?

Is he still using wood sticks? That should help out with the Coyotes' equipment budget.

Wow, just looking over at NHL Numbers and Phoenix has a dramatically improved D.

Jovo-Yandle
Sauer-Aucoin
Lepisto-Michalek
X-Hale, Vandermeer

I'm not sure how good Sauer is anymore, but that is a pretty decent group, should give Phoenix a chance to compete every night.

Maloney said last summer that he wouldn't be signing any 30-year-olds.

Lawton said at the draft that they wouldn't trade the #2 pick for any 30-year-olds.

Neither said they would be signing any 30-year-old free agents this summer.

They do?

Aucoin is a bottom pairing defenseman at this point in his career and Lepisto has shown no indication being a successful NHL player.

Sauer is really underrated though.

Fine. How about:

Jovanovski-Michalek
Sauer-Yandle
Aucoin-Vandermeer

press box: Lepisto
face down in a shallow grave: Hale
