I'm not sure he's worth more than twice what Skrastins got.

I hope those Kings fans who have been relentlessly bashing Lombardi for the past 28 hours will feel some shame. This is a real good move for the team and is exactly one of the things Lombardi said he would do - sign a solid, character, defensive defenseman - with the added value of taking some pressure off of the young guys.

I haven't read any of this thread yet but I'm sure it has plenty of Penguin fan meltdowns and people not realizing that he's just a stay at home 6th defenseman. If he wasn't on the cup winning team he's be making 1-1.25 million this season instead of this ridiculous deal.

Nope, they will find some reason to bash him on this deal, and will still ***** that he did not give Gaborik $8mil/year

LOL 3.4 million for a #6 stay at home defenseman is a real good move. Ok!

yeah he got lucky by the media going crazy over 1 blocked shot, towards the end of the year though he showed he would be a free agent getting a raise

This is an OK signing for us. Not bad, but nothing great.

Scuderi will be 34 by the end of the contact, which isnt horrible. Money-wise, its not bad either.

My issue is that (a) we have LOADS of D prospects already, who sooner or later need to be given a shot to make the team. This makes it more difficult for them. (b) We already have "veteran" defensemen in Greene and O'Donnell, and (c) Most important of all, it does absolutely NOTHING to address our biggest hole, a first line scorer.

$3.4 million per year is too rich for the Penguins.

That being stated ... thank you Scuderi for your service to the Penguins and Good Luck with the Kings.

Well, yeah. He can throw the hip check.

Toby Petersen can also score the hat trick.

Perhaps but it seemed like the general theme was that Scuderi is god according to a lot of Pen's fans when obviously he's nothing more than a stay at home #6 guy.

Wow talk about cup fever. 3.5M a year for Scuderi? Wow. Glad he got it, glad it wasnt us paying for it. Scuderi is the perfect #5 guy, and average #4 and anything about that hes over his head.

Listen I love the man's shot blocking and his stick checking ability but the fact remains that he isnt physical, isnt a good cornerman, is a complete liability in transition. As Ken Holland said last year, I want players on the Penguins who are "five tool" so to speak, skating, passing, defending. Scuderi is the definition of niche, and one demensional.

Hopefully he does well in LA but 3.4M is insane for what he brings. I'll bet a player like Lovejoy can give the Penguins 95% of what Rob Scuderi brought to the team.

Nice guy though, and I wish him the best

Not sure Scuderi is the gamebreaking forward we all wanted to see in LA. Good signing tho.
