Seems like Gillis is more concerned about the Moose to get to the promise land than the Canucks with all these minor signings. I want this big fish fried already.

Tanner Glass is also known as the consolation prize for the Panthers after their failed attempt at drafting Ovechkin in the last round on the basis he was young enough because of the leap years.

Do you guys not understand these signings are to create winning cultures in our minor teams. It's about development.

jeez, pits, try learning a little something about how to read stats or sumthing.

pretty meh signing. he's not big (not small, but definitely not big), seems to have zero offensive upside (6g, 11p, in 43 games in the AHL last season--and -10), and at age 25 I doubt he has much more to add to his game.

seems like Mike Brown V2.0 is the best case scenerio.

Sportsnet doesn't have the 44 games he played in the AHL this past season.

An Ivy League-educated goon? Haven't seen one of those since Neil Sheehy.

Because we didn't have enough people representing glass on our team already.

...uh why did we sign this guy? Especially when we have a better version of Tanner Glass named Guillaume Desbiens sitting on the Moose without a contract.

You've seen three fight videos and you're prepared to say he's worse than Desbiens when you've seen him maybe 6, 7 times?

For all we know Desbiens does have a contract lined up, or hell, maybe he's looking at offers when he sees the glut of young forwards we have in our lineup currently. We don't exactly have much space for an aspiring forward who wants to play in the NHL next year or two.

Desbiens is good yes, but I can't understand why you're all *****ing and moaning.

"Why did we sign him?"
"Oh my god, we got the cup.."

Etc, etc.

You can't sign 48 Gaboriks and Cammalleri's to your team to play on the farm and the NHL team, you need DEPTH! Look at the players that were healthied for the last three Stanley Cup teams come their winning game...theres some great depth there.

There has been some change-over this season in Manitoba with some players not getting qualifying offers, and I guess this is about changing the guard in Winnipeg.

shouldn't this be in AHL/Moose thread? or I guess it could qualify as a Canucks type news, after all it was announced as a Canucks signing. Congrats to the Moose on obtaining another tough guy to help them with a Calder Cup run next season... now let's actually talk about the Canucks and what actually matters in having them succeed past 1st round in the play offs next season, because this sure wasn't it.

I doubt they want to see Desbiens fighting as much this season and primarily concentrate on improving his skills. Glass can really help spread out the pugilism.

Moose depth, might see him here on a callup.
I doubt this guy sees as much of the NHL as Brown and Burrish have and will...

Looks like he is a pretty lousy fighter...

Was a beauty playing junior in Penticton, good depth pickup. Will be first callup when Rypien gets hurt.
