Nice. He should be a massive upgrade over Ivanans.

I wonder why he isn't scheduled to be at camp next week....Parros was at like, 6 development camps in a row.

They are trying to keep the older guys out of future "development" camps.

I didnt know Westgarth also played at Princeton. I guess theres a trend from where our tough guys come from. Tough yet educated . Well im glad to see we arent letting our tough guys go.

I like this signing. As long as he doesn't take hooking and holding penalties in the offensive zone like Ivanans did it will be an improvement.

Ivanans was easily one of the worst players I have seen at the NHL level, not only could he barely skate, shoot or pass. He was the king of stupid minor penalties in the offensive zone.

I like it for the hair alone... not to mention he's not a walking 2 minute hooking penalty waiting to happen.

Logical deduction from the roster invites. Other than Quick, nobody over 22 is there. They're all from the 06-09 draft classes, and even Trevor Lewis isn't there. No Cliche, no Clune, no Drewiske, no Piskula all suggest that it's being largely geared at junior players or guys with just one AHL year.

It's also a message to those 'tweeners' like Lewis and Drewiske that being treated like a prospect is over, time to act and be treated like a pro.

His hair is the only thing I've seen from him that I care for. Gotta love it!.

... then again, can anything ever compare to the camera panning across the Rat Boy King's face during the national anthem? Greatest. Scowl. Ever.

Seriously. I haven't seen a single thing from Westgarth to make me think he isn't anything but a U.S. born version of the same player.

Westgarth definitely plays with more energy than Ivanans at least. I like the signing, we have our next enforcer and can show Ivanans the door.

Def. Someone over at the fight board said they know a guy who friends with Ivanans and he thinks he is going to get traded this summer to an Eastern Conference team.

Westgarth def brings more energy than Ivanans. When Ivanans lined up against Artukyin after the Doughty hit, all he did was challenge him to a fight, he should've just pummeled hit like Parros did to Eager a few years back after a late hit on Pronger.

That's the thing that bugs me about this team. If Westgarth could actually go send some retribution, without taking 5 minute majors in the process, I think that in and of itself would be a huge upgrade. As far as his skating and skills, I wasn't overly impressed, but my standards with him weren't too high to begin with.

I like Ivanans and he's a good fighter and I don't think he's the worst player ever, but his time is running it's course I think.
