The Sedins at 12.2 for 5 years on your team?

Would you want the Sedins on your favorite team at their new contract of 6.1 mil (12.2 mil total and 21% of your cap) with NMCs for the next five years?

EDIT ...Forgot to add the poll... Mods if you could add a simple yes or no or delete this thread, that'd be super.

I'd do it.

The Sedins are far better players than they get credit for. I don't know if it is because they are Euros that aren't very flashy or because they play way out west so the eastern media types have to stay up till all hours of the night to watch them play, but they are damn good.

No, that's organizational suicide and would leave the team with very little cap hit to improve the rest of the roster.

Huge mistake for any team, and huge mistake by Vancouver. We've become a TML/NYR hybrid.

I'm happy with Datsyuk and Zetterberg at 12.8 a year.

I do agree that the Sedins are very good players though. Most nights against most teams they control the play and their cycle game is as good as it gets right now.

I'm on the fence but leaning towards no. They're getting a big luxury in staying together but didn't want to make a concession salary wise, I think $10-11m would be a bargain but over 12? I dono...

I think individually they are worth that much but I wouldn't spend that much on 2 of the exact same type player (no pun intended).

After the Sedins and the reported deal for Luongo that leaves 36 million for the rest of your team. That isn't good.

Did not like the deal. I wanted a longer term with lower cap hit.

No, but not because they arent worth the money, but because i think its ridicilous to be stuck with 2 players and 12 million cap hit, just imagine if in couple years they started to suck so bad that they would barely be 2nd line players.

No. This deal sucks. I expected more from identical twins. The Sedin's are like Master Blaster from Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. They need each other to survive and really should only count as 1 entity.

Not really.. but I'd rather have them then any other 2 forward FAs that signed similar length deals.

No way. Vancouver had no choice but that will be to their demise.

Yes, they are worth it. Take a look at the market and you'll see people like Gomez making over 7 million, Ryan Smyth with a cap hit of 6.5. The going rate for front line players once they hit their late 20's is not cheap, thats just how it is.

No... but they did it so ugh.

Marian Hossa makes the Twins deal look bad.. but since Gillis hates long contracts...

From what I heard the owners didn't want to give out those type of deals unless they were superstars (Crosby, AO, etc)
