Why would not want to play Paccioreti? After what I saw from him last year I love the way he drives to net with determination and speed (not ala Latendresse)
Patches has top 2 line talent, & still has to tighten up his game. He requires quality minutes in game situations to become stronger, & less of a defensive liability.

Stewart does not have an iota of Scoring threat and does not bring out the potential to a high level checking center such as Chipchura. & Laraque is there to be the sandpaper for line 3... he also has stone hands.

Chips needs to play with some creative players...

I'm a huge fan of Mark Bell but I think he is with the Rangers now.

Brian Burke and Cliff Fletcher had nothing but good things to say about him and he does have size and talent.

I doubt Gainey would touch him though.

He's UFA right now

That's what I heard, is that there was nothing but good things to say about the turn around on Mark Bell.

worse case scenario, he goes down & doesnt count against our cap. Best case, rebuilds his career a bit & becomes an x factor on the fourth line...

He drops the gloves, he pots in a few goals, & gives Chipchura an outlet for some creativity... (he is a playmaker more than a scorer) & bell is a scorer before he is a playmaker...

He's quit drinking, and is trying to get back on track... for 2 years now.
Yeah....and Sean Avery supposedly came out of one month of counselling as a Saint.

Even without the attitude/behavioral concerns, Mark Bell is a bad idea for so many reasons. I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole.

I really dont like this idea. With the new direction Bob has taken this team, Bell isn't a player that I would want to be a part of what is being created.

You do know this is 2009 right?

Bell hasn't shown any of those traits on a consistent basis since he was a Blackhawk.

He has too many off ice issues to consider taking him on this team. Clearly they have affected him because his play really dropped since he was a Blackhawk.

Gomez - Plekanec - Lapierre - Metropolit

Don't sign too much wingers fir Chipper, he probably won't play more than 25 games this year.

I strongly disagree with Mark Bell. We should go after Eric Daze

We can tie ropes around Cams, Gionta and Gomez to pull them around. We can have size and speed.

Not interested at all for the reasons stated by other posters. We want to have players that care and that won't be a bad influence. He is the last thing we need. If we are gonna get leafs players, he is not one I want.

Too bad at one time he had the power forward tag, wasted career.

Kent Carlson? You must be as old as me He was a good fighter and my fave player back then...of course I was too young to know hockey back then.

Anyhow, ok so there isnt much interest around here for Bell,
How about a Lukas Kaspar? He has barely been tested in the NHL, 4 points in 13 gp. 2 g, 2 a...
A bit of a playmaker, but he is creative & shifty.
May be a good fit for the left side?

His upside is of a third line winger, maybe he could be a good fit

No, i'm 7-8 years older ... it doesn't make a big difference, except for the number of times I saw the Habs win the cup!
Carlson was a bit of everything we like on this board, a prospect making the team and BONUS he was a real enforcer. We could use a guy like him on defense this year ...

Habs board - Bell? I thought he was doing time?
Ghost #1 - Nah, he's out, he got out...the NHL is out to get him, he's a rebel....
Owen Wilson - Johnny Humour was a rebel, Bell's a nut!

He's a gamble now and doubt Bob would even contact him.
At 6-4, was somewhat of a PF in the making. After leaving Chicago, he fell off the map and could'nt crack TO's line-up. comes with a bagage.....

What a waste of talent till now, how idiot can you be when you drink yourself out of 20+ millions of dollars?

Anyways does he even still play center anymore?

That was what I wondered. If I'm right, he played the wing in SJ and TO. In Chicago he played both but not 100% sure. He is only 28 and if sobber, maybe he can be gone enough to play in the NHL again but as a winger.
