Kotalik

He is still a UFA

any talk of where he may go in the NHL or is he KHL bound?

If the Rangers let Zherdev walk I think Kotalik would fit nicely with Drury

so 2 million?

I doubt Kotalik is KHL bound but he would fit nicely with a playmaking center.

He'd be a good fit in NY if they can get him for $1.5-$2.0. He's a sub-par ES player but he'll help substantially with NYR's woeful PP. And he's lights out in shootouts.

I think he'll want about 2.5 to 3.5 per year for a 2-3 year contract.

was impressed with his play after he came over to edm. a really nice shot. a big body who can handle himself in the corners in puck battles.

he ll pot u twenty goals.

so 4.5 mill

in all honesty 2.5-3.5

Wouldn't be so sure about that. If Hemsky had a say then he'll be back.

I love Kotalik and wish the Oilers never let him go to free agency. Having said that we need to make sure money is spent to bring in a pk specialist like betts and a 3d line faceoff center like malhotra in our bottom 6 before we start bringing In more top 6 talent.

He would fit well for the Preds on a line with Legwand and Erat who both have shot-deficit-disorder. Preds need another top 6 guy but probably can't or won't pay more than roughly $2M per year, which probably doesn't get the deal done.

If Zherdev's asking price is too much to the point the Rangers let him walk, I'd love for them to pick this guy up.

No he wouldn't. Kotalik is nothing but a hard shot. The guy doesn't move his feet, can't pass, and plays smaller than he is. He is a liability except on the PP. So a team needing a shot on the PP might want to invest $1.5 million in him. Hmmm... maybe the Sabres should resign him.

I think he's expecting 3 mill... and I think he's worth it but so many teams are so hard pressed for cap space that he isn't going to get it. I kinda think he might go to the KHL if they'll offer 2-3 mill a season. They get great tax breaks over there. He might come back after everything is unscrewed.

Thanks, Mr. Betman.

With Hudler signing in Russia he could also be a candidate for Detroit to replace some of the scoring. Though for not anything over 2-2.5 million.

Kotalik is a pretty nice top 6 forward. The only problem I had with him when he was in Buffalo was that he didn't use his body much. I loved his rocket shot and his shootout performance. He'll get you 20 goals a year and about 40 points but he'll want 2.0-2.5 per. I think he's quite overlooked and is sure to land a roster spot somewhere. A lot of teams should be interested in him. I wouldn't be surprised if either Buffalo or Edmonton takes him back, though the latter is more probable.

stupid and foolish comment

20 goals 120 hits a year, hard worker in the corners, shootout specialist and nice pp work gets you 2.5ish now-a-days. You point out is flaws..and exaggerate them...

LOL at you

Very similar players to Samuelson who got 2.5m, though I suspect if he would settle for that he'd already be signed.
