Well, he did answer his phone, walk away so nobody could hear him and then go down to talk to Tocchet.
The only reason he would do that is to ask Tocchet if he wants Hale or not.

rt...I've always wondered this about the yotes fans....How do you get through one game without wanting to strangle the guy who has control of the howling coyote? [MOD:edit] Less than 6 months ago, the YOTES were TALKING FIRESALE. They were trying to trade off Mueller, Jovo, and Bryz for picks and prospects, merely to save on salary and will end up doing the same thing again soon. Despite recent acquisitions and claims that they're trying to pick up a well regarded UFA winger, rest assured that they will not take on Vrbata's contract unless we offer something as a pot sweetener. There's no point in mentioning them as a trading partner. If anyone gets a chance to ask Lawton directly, I'll bet money he says the same thing. Sucks that I don't live in TB anymore because I used to get to talk with broadcasters about the team but I still have my ways

Maybe the Oilers would take Vrbata? They couldn't get Heatley and while Vrbata is nowhere near that level, he could still do a few things. I'd take a 4th rounder, 2 beers and call it a day.

omark straight up, then have the duo in NA next season. get it done.
I see us getting career AHL players or getting nothing and sending Vrbata down to Norfolk. He could always be picked up on re-entry waivers if some1 wanted him that bad.
