Rangers and Caps' schedules were released today. No games against the Flyers.

No games against the Caps? When's the last time that happened?

I guess that leaves the Devils and Islanders then.

Looks like a reduction in games. Caps are playing just six preseason games.

Good, hopefully they play in London and only have 2 home preseason games.

To answer your question, GKJ, looks like 1987-88 was the last preseason the Flyers and Caps didn't meet. Flyers had 11 preseason games in 1990-91, by comparison.

I don't recall any team having more than 7 games. Carolina plays just 4, and I've noticed a couple of 6s. A reduction in preseason games couldn't hurt the Flyers, look how they started last year.

Looks like Buffalo is playing five. The Sabres' schedule has yet to be released, however.

Its a shame they already announced that the last game at the Spectrum happened. They could have got another preseason game in this year.

I think they took out all the hockey stuff though already.

They're keeping the Spectrum up for a few extra months now though, I think it was supposed to come down in September, but now Pearl Jam is playing 2 shows at the end of October.

According to the Vancouver Sun newspaper, the Canucks are playing nine games:

http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/2...142/story.html

Quote:
One thing Bowness nearly frowned upon was the Canucks' condensed "training camp" that will last just two days before the team begins playing nine pre-season games in 14 days, leaving little quality practice time to prepare for the Oct. 1 season-opener in Calgary.

A year ago, the Canucks played seven pre-season games.

"It's not enough practice time, no," Bowness conceded. "But every team is like that. This is what we have to deal with and we will deal with it. We'll make sure the practices are quality practices and I'll guarantee you, come Oct. 1, we will be ready."
Schedule: http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/C...349/story.html

Some teams have more Detroit has 8 NHL games and one against a European team and LA has 8, other teams might have more too.

The Wild?

They're just coming here? We're not going there?

I'm gonna try and get rid of the Devils preseason game. I would think that's all the home games the Flyers have, they usually only have 3, and then the game in London.

Right on 1 account. Global Spectrum has operating interest in the John Labatt Centre...but the Knights are owned by Dale and Mark Hunter.

The Islanders released their 6-game preseason schedule this weekend. No games against the Flyers. It ends with a home and home against the Devils.

The Preseason home schedule I have is:

Sept 22nd vs Detriot
Sept 24th vs New Jersey
Sept 29th vs Minnesota

I have no good source to cite... just a post on HB

EDIT: Never mind... I now see that Murphy7 beat me to it a couple days ago... and cited a source.

The home games are on the Flyers' web site, under 11-game plans.
