One thing Bowness nearly frowned upon was the Canucks' condensed "training camp" that will last just two days before the team begins playing nine pre-season games in 14 days, leaving little quality practice time to prepare for the Oct. 1 season-opener in Calgary.
A year ago, the Canucks played seven pre-season games.
"It's not enough practice time, no," Bowness conceded. "But every team is like that. This is what we have to deal with and we will deal with it. We'll make sure the practices are quality practices and I'll guarantee you, come Oct. 1, we will be ready."
The Wild announced their preseason schedule on Friday. The first game at Xcel Energy Center will come on Sept. 18 against Columbus.
Minnesota will also host the Chicago Blackhawks on Sept. 20 and the St. Louis Blues on Sept. 24. The Wild will hit the road for games at Columbus on Sept. 21, Chicago on Sept. 25 and Philadelphia on Sept. 29.
