If the actual lineup is anything like that, good luck at the draft lottery.

It's funny, the more I think about it, the more I'd actually like to see a replacement lineup like that scHab thread from many many months ago.

It will be really fun to see which players cross the line from the get-go, and which ones cross later. Setting aside the hopelessly naive possibility of the lockout being resolved before that eventuality, I think I have my heart set on a replacement lineup. Which of our current players or kids would cross the line? I can't think of any immediately obvious candidates.

I think we'd see our old friend Gino again. Possibly Mario Roberge and Gilbert Delorme.

I'm hoping for Patrick Poulin to make a comeback too.

Your line-up make sence for me. At least, it's better then the one of NewHabsArea...I mean, if Plekanec is NHL ready, he will have to stay in the AHL till an regular habs is injured. This is how it goes. And after that, how can you trade Ribeiro? He had a career year so wait and see if he can still progress. We could have a star! Oh and BTW NHA, you can't put two rookie who never played a single game in the NHL on the first line of a team!

:lol Try to picture Julien: "Saku, you know I love you so I will put you on a line with two rookies with 0 experience that will get schooled for the first two or three months. But hey, they've got talent!"

But don't worry, there's very little chance that all of them will be ready next year and if they all make the team they will take turns watching the games from the stands until they can really learn.

*****-Koivu-Zednik
Dagenais-Ribeiro-Ryder
*****-Bonk-*****
*****-Bégin-Ward

With Bulis, Hossa, Higgins, Perezhogin and Plekanec all competing for the empty spots. Obviously Bulis is a lock, but I'd think that wether he plays with Koivu or Bonk will be dependant on the performances of Higgins, Hossa and Perezhogin during the season.

Markov-Rivet
Souray-Komisarek
Bouillon-Brisebois
Hainsey

D looks pretty much set in stone. With Bouillon and Hainsey dueling it out for the last spot.

Theodore
Huet

I figure Dagenais would stick for one more year, or as long as it takes for us to find a replacement, wether it's from the farm or via a trade.

Both Hossa and Hainsey have got to make the line up from the start. Wether they'll be waived or traded during the season will be entirely up to them. I figure Hainsey would have the same role Komisarek had last season.

I'm not sure Perezhogin would be able to play in the AHL, it's hard to tell. The habs are in a difficult situation with him, so I'd think they'd rather have him in NA and since we have a lot of depht at center I think it would be feasible to include him in the line up.

That being said, chances are Gainey is going to be shopping for a couple of players before the season start. We have too many holes and even if all the kids showed they were ready, we'd still need a couple of extra players in case of injuries.

I like the idea of Perezhogin playing with Bonk and Bulis, then maybe some spot PP time and then move him up as he adjusts, just play him with some responsible players.

ok what u smoking man?? why dont u just send zednik, begin, bonk, koivu and ryder to the ahl it would be the same team as u stated. U think 5 rookies can compete against nhl players? Why would u scratch or trade ribeiro??? he was ur leading scorer last year and u want to trade him? Yes ribeiro is small but he can add some muscle and if he can get 60 some points being small imagine what he can do with some muscle.

2nd where did Ivanans come from? you take Bulis out for Ivanans, a guy who has little nhl experience vs a guy who can play defence really good, and next year might be his big breakout season everyone was expecting since he came in the nhl.

3rd Zednik should not be on the 3rd line no way.. he is one of our best goal scorers he is not paid to shut down other teams top lines.

Here are my lines, and i don't think we will sign kovalev that thing is done because our prospects are ready and kovalev is getting older, anyway here my lines:

Hossa-Koivu-Zednik
Higgins-Ribs-Ryder
Bulis-Bonk-Perez
Sundstrom-Begin-Ward

leaving- Daginais,pleks,kostitsyn

The goalie and defence is the same for me, but the foward:

Zednik-Koivu-Kost
Perez-Rib-Ryder
Higgins-Bonk-Bulis
Bégin-Plekanek-Ward

Next year it's gonna be fun to watch and even more the year after

How about a realistic lineup?

Hossa-Koivu-Zednik
Dagenais-Ribeiro-Ryder
Bulis-Bonk-Sundstrom
Higgins-Bégin-Ward

Markov-Rivet
Souray-Komisarek
Bouillon-Brisebois
Hainsey
