If Schneider doesn't get an offer from us or another team, maybe Bob wants him to work with our D's?
If he sign for that, I agree

I would like to see Schneider back. He's a great puck moving and rushing right handed D and his presence will bring 2 very powerful PP units for the habs. But I say if he's back, with the last big bodies they acquired on the blue, Gainey will be looking to unload Hamrlik's big 5.5M (2 years left). O'byrne will then suit the 7th spot. Weber, Carle, and Subban in Hamilton playing big minutes and ready to jump if injuries occur. I think if O'byrne is not part of the top 7 defensmen, he will likely be trade.

Schneider is left-handed, but I would take him back in a second if we could get rid of Hamrlik's contract.

With all due respect to Schneider he is no Hammer when it comes to defense. I just don't see this happening.

This. Replacing Hamrlik with Schneider might make our PP better, but we would become weaker in the defensive zone that's for sure. I'd prefer keeping Hamrlik for now.

But I'd want both of them. If Schneider doesn't want to be 7th Dman, I'd look at trading Gorges and Pleks for a somewhat equal but bigger center than Pleks.
