This is the most Kings-friendly schedule I've seen in years. A 6 game road trip right after the start of the season and a nice long 7 game home stand in January. 2 5 game road trips as well. Not bad.

Longest homestand: 7 games in January
Longest road trip: 6 games in October
12 Back-to-back games
3 different "home&road" games against same team
16 Saturday home games
14 Thursday home games

We also have 9 days off at Christmas time for some odd reason.

Yep. Essentially 10 of 15 - one of those road games is in Anaheim.

Speaking of Anaheim.. our first game with them isn't until December.

I was just browsing other west teams schedules that we could be fighting for a playoff spot with and the Blue Jackets last 5 games are brutal. They play Det, Was, St. Louis, Det and Det.

Playing the Islanders early is nice, and then they will be here later in the season, looks like we will get a look at Tavares. Also the Rangers and Detroit back to back is a crazy test at the start of the season, looking forward to that... Pitt to Staples is a plus. We play Colorado 4 times in the last 22 games. It looks like we have a lot of home games down the stretch too... This seems to be a much more reasonable schedule. I like it a lot. There should be no schedule excuses this year. Good work management.

Thanks
You won't have any problem. Day of game tickets will probably be available for this one also. I wouldn't push it that close, but there is definitely no rush.

Have a look at Vancouver. Because of the Olympics, they got screwed. Fourteen road games in a row, broken up only by the Olympic break.

Nice. The Western Canada swing comes in right before the long break before Christmas, and the second Eastern Time Zone trip comes after a long homestand. For once the Kings aren't vacationing in LA for a week before going back to the East Coast to work again.

They had to though. They need to reconfigure the arena for the Olympics.

When do all tickets go on sale? I just tried to buy the Ducks vs. the Pens (Pens are my 2nd fav team so I don't want to see them against the Kings. I want to actually root for them) and ticketmaster isn't bring it up.

Looks like I'll be missing two games outright this season... I'll be working for THE Salvation Army doing the kettles again (7th year in a row)...but I WILL be asking for updates on those two games on Saturday... If the early games were on Monday or Tuesday...I could get those days off...but they want EVERYONE working Saturday...

I still can't recall the last GOOD schedule we had...

Agree!!! I am liking the balance, here's to hoping that we tear it up on that first six game road trip and build some chemistry early on with the new guys.

I am psyched about the Kings coming to Boston for a second straight season and I might also try to make it down to the Island for the Columbus Day game (I'll have to get the day off).

Spending all of February in SoCal is HUGE. Legitimate opportunity for rest for any non-Olympian. I REALLY like this schedule.

On a personal note ... JANUARY 30, 2010!!!!!! Kings in Boston ... you bet your sweet sassy mollassy I am going to be there! Two years in a row!? This is so many different kinds of awesome I have trouble counting them all.

The only concern is that it is a the beginning of the season and they usually have better attendence when they aren't in last place yet. Having said that, it wouldn't sell out until the day of game or close to that if it even did. You'll be fine waiting and look on ebay or craigslist to find deals.

I don't think all teams tickets go on sale at the same time.

No team should have road stretches like that.

This line is concurrently funny (because it's more-or-less true) and sad (also because it's more-or-less true)...

Oh, and On-Topic: A personal gripe: Monday night games suck. I miss the Saturday matinée-heavy schedules of the early part of this decade (seemed to be less traffic to-and-from...'course, this was 7/8 years ago, so.....)

What an improvement from the past few years...We do spend a bunch of time on the road at the beginning of the season, but thats much better then what we had last year....

We finally get to see the Penguins and the Staple Center and The Capitals will be out here for the 2nd straight year...looking good

They get a full 2 weeks off 8 games in. It's not as bad as it sounds.

Interesting that there are only two Friday games (both on the road) in the entire schedule.

I kind of like that.
