Looks like they are really trying to ensure that Manchester stays competitive... Welp, off to update the charts...

I am actually kind of shocked he decided to keep Piskula.....He will more than likely never be more than a possible injury replacement.

If it were strictly an AHL depth signing then he would have gotten a contract from the Monarchs....not the Kings....considering there is a 50 contract limit they should not be given out strictly for AHL depth.

Joe Piskula is to the Kings what Joe Piscopo was to SNL.

That's actually a very terrible comparison, but the names sound similar. Meh.

I am searching the filing cabinets in my brain. Isn't this the kid who has been injured nearly every day of his hockey career?

I actually had high hopes for Joe when we signed him.

If I remember correctly, there were alot of teams that were trying to get him.

Clearly, he hasn't panned out, and I'm surprised we resigned him.

He's still a decent bottom pairing defensemen, can't be much worse than Gauthier.

Piskula played well in Manchester last year. Bagnall also played pretty well, especially in the second half of the season. Bagnall also hits and fights. I wouldn't mind seeing either of these two as the seventh d man next season. Piskula is more of an Aaron Miller type while Bagnall is more of an O'Donnell type defenseman.

I think this is Piskula's last season as a King/Monarch. . with all the other young talent coming out of Juniors. . I think DL is getting ready to start cleaning house.

Piskula has really disapointed me over the last couple years. I hope the Kings see something in him.

He was signed at the end of the 06/07 season I think when the Kings had no defensive prospects. He came out of the NCAA. I don't remember what school but I believe a handful of teams were trying to sign him. He played a few games at the end of the 06/07 season with the Kings and has played in Manchester since.

Good solid defenseman for the Monarchs. If he can continue to progress, maybe he can provide what Scuderi does in a few years.

Correct, he was signed the same time as Westgarth, Purcell, Dravecky. Played with Drewiske, and Likens at Wisconsin, and ended up playing 5 games at the end of the 06/07 season. Sadly he was probably the most talented of the three Wisc guys that play/played for Manchester. Was billed as a 3-4 dman with good skating and decent offensive upside when he was signed but he just hasn't shown anything of value since those first five games... This point at best he's a 6-7 depth d-man and this is probably his last chance to make a mark just like Boyle last year.
