My off-season charts are up to date at the top of the forum We have about $10 including all of our bonus cushion.
"It has not been a good day. I lost my glasses early this morning and I had to go buy a pair of 79 dollar reading glasses today. 79 bucks. You can literally get them at Costco, three-for-20." - Darryl Sutter's response to going up 2-0 in the series.
I don't think we need to add anyone to the roster. It would be nice, but we don't want to go ALL IN on a playoff push until the deadline, if at all.
As it stands we have a roster that can compete for a spot, lets not add any contracts that go beyond the 2009-2010 season and save our money for Quick and Frolov.
If we are on the cusp at the deadline, then I would send a pick or two (no good prospects) to get an impending UFA to help ensure we get into the playoffs. If the cap goes down, and we add a Sturm (or anyone with 2 years or more left on their deals), and Quick and Frolov have good-great seasons, we could be in more trouble than we'd like the year before the big raises come for Johnson, Doughty, Moller, Simmonds and someone to replace Williams.
Kopitar was always going to get his. Frolov would be better off waiting until UFA to cash in if he steps up his play.
So....let me get this straight.....players like Cammi are greedy because he refused to sign early and wanted to become a UFA to make more money....but Frolov is stupid if he signs a contract early and doesn't wait until he becomes a free agent so he can make more money?
