If we do 3 lines:

Gagne-Richards-Powe
Hartnell-Carter-Lapperiere
Pyorala-Giroux-Briere
Carcillo-Kolanos/whoever-Asham
the idea of powe on the top line makes me worry about this team...nice bit player but people are way overestimating his ability.
also, as much as i hate having the guy as an enforcer i think cote plays @ 20 gms (pens, rags, leafs)

Sorry to cross post, but I though I shoule post it in both player's thread.

Bill Meltzer blogged that both Mika Pyörälä and Krys Kolanos have been signed for one year/$500K NHL minimum contracts each... Another Million gone, but two more players under contract. I assume they now must make the roster.

My point is that Stevens said he likes Giroux at centre with Briere at wing, which hints at rolling 3 scoring lines, which are really scoring "pairs" with a complimentary winger. I would rather 2 stacked lines, but if Stevens is going to do 3 scoring lines, I think Powe would be a fine complimentary guy, be it with Richards-Gagne, or with Giroux-Briere(where he has already played well)

First off, huge Darroll Powe fan.

What about having a shutdown third line anchored by Richards?

Gagne - Giroux - Briere
Hartnell - Carter - Pyorala
Powe - Richards - Lappy5000
Carcillo - Matsumoto - Asham

Only thing that worries me is how soft the first line is. Pyorala can't be worse than Lupul defensively, and I'd exchange fewer points for a better overall player. That third line could be great. 4th line, well, its the 4th line.

Regards,
Rick

Yes but no... We prefer the term Cyborg.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic man. Ian Laperriere will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.

He is... The Six Million Dollar Man...
