Saw Adam Graves this past weekend, Wow...

...What a professional this guy is. I've heard everything from everyone, but until you get to see it in person, you can't fully appreciate it.

My little brother attended a one day Adam Graves NYR Hockey Clinic at Ice Time up in Newburgh. His group, the Pee Wees and Bantams we scheduled last, and the Squirts had gone over time. We got to watch the end of that session, which concluded with Graves sitting down at a table for autographs. He then told the skaters and families of the next group they could line up for autographs now as opposed to after (probably because it was getting late and they wanted to get home at some point in the night lol)...

...He signed EVERYTHING. Signed everything everyone could offer him. Posed for every requested picture. Shook every hand. 10 minutes turned into 20, turned into 30... Smiling all the way through. The man was a machine!!

At the end of my brother's session, he brought the kids over to the bench where one kid was sitting the whole session. He just came back from a broken leg, but it was too soon for him to skate, so his family paid the money for him to just sit there and watch. Graves had him stand up, he said something about him, they all tapped their sticks for him, and then he gave the kid his stick he was using, which was a Gomez game used stick (I can see alot of those being given out now haha). My mother and I were standing next to this kid's parents, talking and such... To see the smile on his parents' faces, to see that they were getting unmeasurable joy from Adam being so nice to their son, it was a sight to see. At the end, he signed more jerseys (my Ranger jersey signed by Phil Esposito is now signed by Graves as well ), shook more hands...even as he was walking out the door, signing and shaking and posing...

In an era full of prima donna athletes, its nice to see someone act like a pure professional and do all he can for his fans. Just felt like sharing.

Sounds just like Gravey....nicest person I have ever met. I don't know how through all the countless people he meets he always remembers my name.

I'm meeting him for lunch on Tuesday, I'm beyond excited.

I don't know what I should bring for him to sign though XD

I don't want him to sign my Henke Jersey, but I don't want to go out and buy a new Jersey. And I don't want him to sign my Gretzky jersey, because, well it's too small for me now. And I feel like I want him to sign more than just a puck...and I don't want to carry a stick throughout the city...

I loved Graves. I remember playing old NHL games, he was always my go-to scorer.

Graves is still the only named Rangers jersey I own. Until someone can even come close to his badassery, it will stay that way.
