Carlson (I would have voted Neuvy before camp but I had my mind changed by all the interviews articles and his perfortmance).

How has no one voted for Orlov? All you guys have just been reading the papers and falling for the Carlson hype. Granted he is a very good player and very well may be ready for the NHL, but if any of you guys watched any of this week's scrimmages you would have seen that Orlov was the best defenseman if not the best player out there.

DONT BUY THE CARLSON HYPE! HE'S GOOD BUT ORLOV IS BETTER.

He's not the only player I'd vote before Orlov.

Dubuc isn't a Caps prospect, he's a free agent. I don't think he should be considered here honestly.

Then you can also be added to the list of people who have just been reading HF Boards and The Washington Post and not actually watching the scrimmages.

I was there every day this year, and most of development camp, rookie camp, and training camp last year. Carlson is a better prospect.

I've been watching scrimmages and practices, and from what I've seen, Orlov isn't top 5.

well Orlov is still 17 years old so.... yeah

Carlson is a better prospect and more ready for the NHL at this point. I love Orlov and was at the scrimmage today and came away impressed. (first time there this week) I also like Mestery. He is a very fluid skater and like someone said, he can already skate better than shultz.

Also Holtby was SOLID out there today.

I didn't say he isn't good or I'm not impressed with him. But he isn't, at this point, a better prospect than Carlson Neuvrith or a couple others.

You sure you aren't the one who is all aboard the hype train? For me, I need to see a player for more than just 1 good week of camp against FAs and other prospects before I'm ready to move him ahead of guys I've been watching for a year or more and who have already accomplished quite a bit.

Even if Alzner was on this list, I would have voted for Carlson.

Carlson. And I would have voted for Carlson over Alzner as well. It just seems he made greater strides last year, and has a lot to offer. I would have liked to see him be a bit more physical in camp but was overall happy with his play. Alzner was real good early on his first NHL stint but then the rest of his NHL time he seemed to fall apart somewhat. Not getting into a playoff game here then dispatched back to Hershey and the concussion; his end of the year just sucked.

Its just my guess but I think Carlson passed him.
