There's only like 5 guys that I can't pull up information on work post-playing days. Certainly they're not being paid NHL money, but it's not like they're out of options to feed and clothe their family once the ride is over.
i know they don't all just shut themselves into a corner after their playing days are done but if they want to continue to live the ife they do for the rest of their lives they need to make as much as they can while playing

i'm not saying no one takes a 10-15% pay cut to play for a winner for a few years but by and large nobody plays for 1 million when they could get 2 million elsewhere

according to his interview on Toronto radio 640,
http://www.640toronto.com/HostsandSh...nch/Audio.aspx

Colby himself said he was relieved when Don Waddell called him to assure him he wasn't part of any trade proposals. He said he liked Atlanta and wanted to work on a longer term deal but there wasn't time before Arbitration to get it done. He'll stay in Atlanta if Kovy signs is my bet.

If he was just biding time, he wouldn't have said the things he did as it was Toronto radio, not Atlanta.

MAybe Colby does like Atlanta...but your really need to take what these players say with a grain of salt.

Armstrong is probably the most underrated player in the league, and is easily the most underrated player on his own squad.

I hate to resort to cliches here, but Armstrong is the type of player that does all of the little things right. Such as, for example, treading water in terms of SF/SA at even strength on a team that was dominated territorially last season. He also played tough minutes.

The fact that the term is for only one year suggests that he wants to test the UFA market next season.

If Waddell knows his ass from his face he would have tried to lock him up with a long term deal.
