Player A or Player B?

Read this excerpt from Paul Kukla's NHL.com blog, and then vote in the poll:

Player A has played in 1,346 NHL games and 91 playoff games. He has 1,349 points in the regular season and 82 points in the playoffs. He is 38. Player B has played in 1,524 NHL games and 184 playoff games. He has 1,354 points in the regular season and 134 points in the playoffs. He is 40. Both players are unsigned and player A is unsure if he will return while player B will play if signed. Player A probably wants at least twice the amount in salary that player B wants. Who do you want?

Too see who each player is, highlight the name after the colon below. Would you change your answer? Are you surprised?

Player A is: Mats Sundin
Player B is: Brendan Shanahan

Neither. Sundin and Shanahan are both done.

I dont want either of these guys anywhere near this team.

.

I prefer Sundin to Shanny simply because of the position he plays

That said, if he's not in camp ten minutes before the doors open

Screw him.

Don't want a player coming to the team in January mucking up the works.

Sadly, the descriptions fail to indicate who is slow as molasses. based strictly on the descriptions provided, though, "Player B" would be my pick. Shanny is too slow, though.

Sundin wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to this team if the price was right, but we can't afford him. He'd give one of our sets of top 4 wings someone with great size and good hands near the net. He'd really help our powerplay out too.

Lets see if we can actually develop a legit scorer within the system. Anyone have a clue since the last time we had one? I mean, that stayed with the Rangers.

Sundin is 38 and still a decent player (28 points in 41 games last year) but regardless how cheap he would be I dont want him on Rangers. Where would he play? On 1st line with Gabby? Too slow. Plus what happens to AA since we would then effectively have Sundin, Drury and Dubi at C. I know Drury could move on the wing but we already have enough of them whether Zherdev comes back or not.

Shanny? Nah, not thanks.
