What's Big Joe to Do After Rookie Camp? Get Arrested!

Seems like Mr. Finley likes chucking garbage in the street and handing out a false id to evade the cops...classic!

Interesting note about the credit card. Who does it belong to and was it given to Finley to use when he had an NCAA scholarship?

who cares?

It's a disappointment, but he isn't going to jail, and its not like he has to be a choir boy.

Basically. This is an example of a university cop trying to fill his quota, and nothing to take seriously.

The Caps want Finley to work on his mean streak. I mean....how much trouble can you get into in North Dakota anyway?

He needs to step it up to chucking Zamboni's (at the Pen's bench) if he wants to be an NHL player. Seriously though, as long as he keeps himself in line the rest of the way, I kind of like the rambunctiousness of Crazy Joe. I'm excited to see what this loose cannon can do in Hershey this season.

I do have to say I chuckled when it said campus cop. The whole card thing is odd in many aspects, but hopefully nothing more then that.

Lets face it, of all the stupid things you can do on a college campus this isn't really one of them. Although, you do have to wonder about the condition of the apartment/dorm room.

*Edit* Now that I think about it more, what the hell is a campus cop taking him off to jail unless it was a couch or something being chucked into the street?

just another day in the life as a 22 year old. Male.

Cops?

Run.

Oh wait, we were only doing small scale vandalism this time. Make up an excuse quickly. Nice try with the credit card assumed identity thing. Little does Joe know he must be one of the most recognized athletes on campus.

College was awesome.

If I had a dollar for the number of times the cops came and threatened to give everyone in the apartment block I lived in Senior year, I would have been able to pay for most of my tuition.

One of my greatest college capers was the warm salt water in the RT lobby soda machine coin slot trick. We made off with an entire industrial size laundry basket full of sodas in the middle of the night. Twice.

I could go on for hours with random stuff. Phone card scams, furniture stacking, floods and water fights, stairwell antics, ect ect.

Never got caught though...unlike poor Joe.

Sometimes I miss college.

When I was in college there was a stabbing at an off-grounds party, so the next week we threw a party, put a tray by the front door and put up a sign that said "please leave all knives here" and took a couple of knives of our own and put it there. Somehow they tray filled up to overflow by midnight.

Anyway the Cops showed up as they do because someone nearby whined about the noise. Charlottesville cops are best because as they showed up, one of my incredibly drunk roommates charged at them screaming, "Why the **** are you breaking up parties? Shouldn't you be stopping people from getting stabbed?" Fortunately I tackled my roommate before he got remotely close to the Cops, had someone hold him down, and went over to talk to the Cops myself. Here was the conversation:

Me: Sorry officers, my roommate has had a few. Anything I can help you with?
Cops: Someone complained about the noise, but it doesn't seem to be too loud. We just had to check it out.
Me: Ok officers, sorry again about my roommate
Cops: That was a nice tackle. If we have to drag out here again, try not to let him talk to us, or at least have a video camera ready.

My other good story involves giving cops a beer while they were directing traffic after a football game.

I guess neither one of the above college story tellers went on to become a professional athlete, huh?

Sweet Finley already working on his goon persona!

Seriously though...I think the good majority of us have probably run from the cops at some point in our lives. No biggy.

yeah yeah yeah, no biggy... today he ran from campus police for a misdemeanor, and some day he'll be running from real cops like some of those football players for a felony. bottom line, let's hope he learns from this, otherwise, he is not mature yet to become a pro athlete and to behave as such.

fun little quote form the article - sounds like how me and my friends were as youngin's

Quote:
“It was their own property, so there was nobody’s property that was damaged other than their own,” Lund said. “They said they just kind of routinely destroy each other’s stuff.”
