saw this posted on the Avs board...

after asking some people in the know that I should keep anonymous, I have it on good authority Nigel was both uncoachable and a locker room cancer.

We've heard a lot of negative reports about his personality, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was someone just trying to stir the pot a bit more claiming inside information.

I don't know if those posters have inside information but what they are claiming is exactly what I heard about this kid from people at Wisconsin. Let's just but it this way despite being one of the most highly recruited players in the country no one inside the program was sad to see the kid go. As was pointed out that was three years ago. Hopefully for the Rangers sake the kid has grown up.

On a much more positive note I have never heard anything but praise for the character and work ethic of Derek Stepan and Ryan McDonagh from friends who are close to the program. Both have very bright futures and I can't wait to see them in a Rangers sweater.

About half a day in camp this September should tell us much of what we need to know re: Williams.

If he turns out to be a headcase, he'll be cut loose, no worries.

Or maybe we'll trade him for a useless AHLer, and the fans of the team to whom we trade him will be gloating about how they "got over" on the Rangers.

Don't see this linked here--so apologies if it has:

some pretty strange answers by Williams for his his AHL profile.

Only really strange answer is the first one. He does say he is different.
