Jaroslav Janus

I did a scouting report on him for my site. You guys drafted him in the sixth round this past year, so hopefully some of you are interested in reading it! Here it is:

Nice article, He does sound like a decent prospect to have in the pipeline. I agree with the fact he is slightly hindered with the small frame, but if he can overcome being beaten high, I think he sounds like a decent backup in the making.

Certainly he does not sound like a wasted pick. Some seem to prefer a big fat guy who fills the net to an athletic smaller guy.

he competes and definitely has potential to make it to the NHL one day. I don't think it was a wasted pick at all, and I'm happy we got him in the 6th round. I look forward to seeing how he progresses.

Tokarski was a small goalie, we got in the later rounds. This looks to be more of the same...absolute steal. Now if we could actually develop a goalie that stays with the team it would be good, after drafting some amazing prospects.

I wouldn't necessarily say people prefer "big fat guys" in net, but having size is a definite plus. It's something you can't teach. I'm not saying small goalies have no chance of ever making the NHL, but having size sure makes it a heck of a lot easier.

After seeing this kid at prospect camp... i'm not worried about the size at all. The kid has some serious tools.
