So, there's a possibility that a group of us from New Jersey will be heading out to Chicago for the New Year's Eve game, can you guys give us any pointers of where and where not to go?

And what's the scene like on NYE in Chicago?

Stay in a hotel in the Loop, and hop on a red line train to the northside. Anywhere around Addison or Fullerton you'll find an abundance of every kind of bar you could want. There's a lot of touristy stuff to do in the loop too if you're into that kind of thing.

Could be worse....we could have the Canucks schedule. Because of the Olympics and setting up, they have something like a month and a half away from home. Just brutal.

Sucks that they are going to play a huge ... (the biggest) international tournament on local league sized ice surfaces.

There's not much that can be done about that. They shouldn't build a new arena just for this, and they can't alter GM Place like that.

The NHLers will be extra comfortable as well.

The solution seems quite obvious.

I don't mind the team going on an 8 game roadtrip, or a roadtrip that lasts 14 days...but playing 8 games in 14 days, with travel between each and every game, and playing across all 4 timezones in that span...is simply f'ing retarded.

They did the same thing during last year's ice show road trip; but, the one thing that's different is that they start out east, go out west, and then end back in the east again. Couldn't they have found a way to get that Carolina game before they go out west?
