Dang. 9/12 is the one weekend I can't due to a wedding (as I'm the photographer!) Guess I'll have to catch the next one.

I'm OK with the 12th, there should be some rinks available then. Would welcome the chance to meet Kirk, whose been a great contributor to this board, oh and also light him up like a Christmas tree.

The only lighting up will be your eyes...when the glove or pads flash out to DENY your feeble scoring attempts.

Kirk is in...lets grab the 12th...especially if it corresponds with some training camp time!

Better bring some heavy duty sunscreen so the back of your neck won't get burnt from the goal light being on.

Believe me I have been hollering for that for a year now. I thought I was driving to Vermont on the last skate.

You wont win anyone over though....they say RIers never leave the state....well try getting Bruins fans in the Boston area to leave a 15 minute radius...good luck!

Just a cotton-picking minute, Mr!

Try driving from the North Shore

Mine is usually about an hour commute to play from Manchester to either Burlington or Stoneham. That's about the same ride as from Providence to those arenas, RI's being about 5 minutes longer.

Except I am about 30 mins south of Providence. No big deal though, wherever we meet up is fine. If camp is the next day I will probably stay up there.

Ok, Sounds like the 12th is a date that will work for most people so we will set that as the date. I'll start calling up some rinks tomorrow morning and see if we can't book some ice time.

The garden is *VERY* expensive but I have a friend who works for the Bruins in the front office and I'll have her investigate it. Who knows, maybe it can work out? I think it would be a blast to play on that ice.

Its a NO GO on the garden ice. It will cost us over a thousand dollars to book it for 2 hours. Still out of our price range for one hour.

Way out there idea.

What if you called back and said we could pay $1,500 for the 2 hours.

If we could get 40 people willing to pay that, it would cost $37.50 each.

We usually pay around $15.00 each for one of the rinks that we typically use, so for $22.50 more, we get what I would guess for most of us is our only chance to play a game at the Garden.

In this plan, the goalies would be asked to pay this one time only as well. Unless the rest of the skaters want to kick in more.

I'd be willing to send a check for my portion ahead of time, as I'm guessing they'd want to get paid before that night.

40 skaters = 20 on 20.

Those of us who have played before and are used to getting tons of ice time will have to understand that we won't play as much, but if it is worth it for enough of us, I'd be willing to do it.

Just an idea. No problem for me if there isn't any interest in doing this.

I misread - I thought it was a grand an hour.

If we want to go with 40 people (usually we get around, what 25-28?) that's only $25pp.

Definitely doable, IMO.

If it's over a grand, then the question is, how much over?

Following Sarge's logic (except I think 40 players is likely too many), if we went with 34 players (15 skaters, 2 goalies per team) and if the ice was $1200 (over a $1000) that would be $35.00 a player. That's doable for me. It really all depends on the price of the ice for 2 hours.
