Eh, I'll say AnGus (tossup between him and Jo for me I guess, at least at this point).

Add... Burke? Getting kinda slim pickings for who to add I guess.

I vote in these, and then I somehow always miss the obvious choice. I must be illiterate.

A. Gordon is a guy that i doubt will ever be considered much of a prospect around here, however by all accounts he could round out the bottom 6 as some older guys move on (Bradley, Clark)

add him or not, i doubt he'll ever garner many votes - just not a sexy type of pick

i picked Perreault. I think everyone feels that AnGus and MJ top out as a second line center. I think perreault has that as his highest upside as well and he has 2-3 years on the other guys.

I don't know if perreault will ever get a chance given his size, but he's played a year in the AHL now and is farther along than AnGus at least given where AG has played, injuries, etc.

I really find it interesting how Gus has dropped in the eyes of many.

He was highly overrated by so many last year at this time, and now he's falling into underrated territory.

I love that album .

I want to like Godfrey SO MUCH, but every time I watch him play he is underwhelming. He does play with some grit, which I like (I loved the fight he had in the preseason last year, although I cant remember whether it was against the Canes or the Flyers; I think it was against the Canes), but his positioning needs to improve dramatically, and he needs to trust in his offensive abilities. I hope that he puts it all together, but Im skeptical about whether he ever will.

Not that I'm one to ever care about nationality especially given the success of the euros on our team but I just find it interesting that in our top 8 there will be 0 canadians. Could be even top 9 if Kouger beats out Holtby or Perreault.

Its just odd given the demographics of the NHL.

It is interesting. The KHL has certainly changed things. I cant help but think Sweden is filling the vaccum more than Canada and everyone else. Sweden is just kicking ass these days and taking names when it comes to the recent draft on top of the ones graduated. Next thing you know we will be speaking Svensk. A lesson. Hej Fu Fan Hejda.

RE: Swedes - typically, Swede's play a very complete game. i think it stems from the European game, wider ice, and the idea that the team is a 5 man unit, not divided into sets of 3 and 2.

i read somewhere that there was a period of time, not too long ago (maybe 10 years ago) where instead of focusing on individual skills that Swedish hockey schools focused mainly on trapping & defensive systems... the byproduct was that Sweden's overall talent level dropped (or never developed fully) ... the hockey philosophy shifted to more of an individual skill focus, and we are where we are now: with Swede's being one of the most talent rich nations for hockey plays, especially when you consider their population (compared to say the USA or Canadaland)

2 Americans, 2 Russians, 1 from Finland, 1 Czech and it looks like the next two will be Swedish.

I hadn't noticed that before, it is interesting.

Voted MJ.

In terms of whom to add, it's pretty much a toss-up between Mestery, Godfrey, and Gordon. Given his age, I don't really see Gordon as a prospect, especially since he isn't even dominating the A yet. I will vote to add Mestery by a hair over Godfrey.

He's 5th for me, after Varly, Carlson, Neuvy, and Johansson. Just a smidge above Orlov. I really liked his game from what I saw at camp.
