If you're playing street hockey I'm guessing you're using a ball or light puck.
If you want to seriously work on your shot for ice hockey, it's a lot more beneficial to train with a full weight puck, and then once you've got your form down, move to a heavier puck for muscle development.
You should grab a shooting pad (they're very cheap) and a good quality net (or some solid backstop) and then just practice, practice, practice.
That's how the guys who are at the top of the game learned, and it remains by far the best way. Practice, practice, practice.
