I think it's a bit of a different scenario -- Tlusty and Stralman. One player has been very vocal about what he wants out of his career in North America. The other has taken his lumps, and raised his game in the minors to be a top, young, offensive producer at that level.

I think Tlusty is a bit more valuable to Burke then Stralman at this point given the depth of each players position.
Absolutely agree. For me Tlusty was a player that i did not like early on in his leaf stints. As of right now Tlusty has proven me wrong and i like that actually. I used to rip him pretty hard too. to the way Tlusty has truly shown that he is going to be a true pro!

Tlusty to me is a player that can benefit from having the toughness in the line-up the most. Hopefully nothing even marginal against him gets let go,because he is a true skill player that deserves to be protected in order to build his confidence at the NHL level.

Here's hoping the team protects him significantly so he can thrive this year.

Did you watch any Marlie playoff games?? Where was Tlusty? He does not go into the traffic areas to pay the price, I'm sure Burke is well aware of that.

Tlusty + Kaberle for one of Columbus's prospects. The Jackets need to win NOW, they've got all sorts of future stars.

I agree, I actually went down to Ricoh for those games. I expected to see Tlusty dominate. Instead he was skating around the perimeter and wouldn't take the puck to the net.

Don't worry, Burke will likely trade him for someone who'll take the puck to the net and then smash the hell out of it.

Every team thinks everyone is untouchable. STL has all those untouchables, CBJ has a bunch of untouchables. Nothing happens in this league.

Kaberle and Tlusty for Kessel and Kobasew works for me, as Burke revisits the Boston possibility again to land some offensive forwards.

Is it really a good idea to give up on Tlusty? I think he could be something special..

So actually logically thinking JFJ cost us Stralman, not Burke. Jfj brought him over too early, made him get close to 80 games so now we would lose him on waivers.

I think the real reason for the trade is because RW likes certain types of players and Stralman isn't one of them. I have a feeling Tlusty isn't one either and we'll see the short end of another deal for another North American landing shortly.

I do see the playoffs on the horizon, but they'll be grounded by a balanced team that can play in the current edition of the NHL.
Doubt it ...... Wilson and Burke have been very vocal about Tlusty , his game (didn't Burke say Tlusty has the skill of a European but play the game in the typical NA fashion ?) , his play at the American Hockey League level and his development as a young player , unlike Anton Stralman

I am tired of these excuses. If you step on the ice - you perform, or give the spot to someone who is healthy.
