Brendan Shanahan to the Habs???
I was listening to Leafs Talk AM640 and Bill Watters mentioned that The Shanahan has narrowed it down to two teams. The second guy (don't know his name) asked who he thinks it is. Watters mentioned how he's really close with Curran (agent for Shanahan and Plecanec, he then went on to say he thinks it's between The Rangers, Devils, Boston, and then slipped in the Habs, it was weird the way he said it, acting like he new something.....

I'd welcome it. Give him the captaincy.

If we're going to sign a 40 years old guy, I prefer Schneider over Shanahan.

There's a LW spot open but no spot for a defenceman. I don't see the point of bringing in Schneider, especially with Spacek.

Shanny fits in terms of character, and PP presence, but we've just upgraded our speed tremendously. He's just too Slow

One of Eklund's source?
Honestly in order to add Shany, we'd need to trade the K Bros. away and if we do don't you think it would be for a winger. It won't happen, it's a 0.1% likely scenario.

Honestly, I'm not sure if I'd be a fan of that move. Not at this point in his career.

Our roster is already full up front (15 forwards if you count Chipchura and Pacioretty) and we have plenty of wingers.

If we're signing an old man I want Mats Sundin. Shanahan had 14 points in like 40 games, I love Shanny but he's finished.

As a 4th line forward making near league minimum, it'd be worth the risk. He's not going to accept that though.
He's finished.

Cammy-Gomez-A.Kost
S.Kost-Plekanek-Gionta
Moen-Lapierre-Latendresse
Shanahan-Metropolit-Laraque/Stewart
Could be good. Shanahan and Moen could be switch as A.Kost and Gionta could be.

Mats Sundin is going to the highest bidder. The Habs do not have that cap space.

Didn't he have bonuses on his contract? If not, I stand corrected.

I would have welcomed him a few years ago, but not now.
By my count we have 15 forwards with only Pacioretty and S. Kostitsyn being exempt.
I'd rather see one of Pacioretty or Latendresse given a crack at playing LW with Gomez and Gionta.

I'd give him a 2-way 600 000K, just 'cause he dropped **** in Bob's hands to many times.

If he's going to be that cheap, i don't see why not. Its times like these that i really wish we didn't have BGL. We should really just waive that guy already, he's useless. a 4th line of Metro, Stewie and Shanny would be very effective defensively and also capable of scoring a bit.

Is it just me or isn't that 4 team and not 2?
