I assumed it wasn't you. We've always been ashamed of the rankings over here though, maybe you can fix that one day. We used to have a good writer from what I hear (Phil, was it?) but those days have come and gone.

Hopefully someone that actually follows our prospects and not just PPG/plus-minus can rank our prospects a little better.

Plus, it doesn't look good credibility wise.

Don't go "Brian Lawton Syndrome" on him. Give him a shot.
STOP CENSORING ME

But yes I will give him a chance and I don't think he's a bad writer, just put into a bad situation by hf.

If he changes his name, starts making some posts and such it will go a long way I think.

Does Lydia ever tell you that you're high maintenance?

Yes Fuhr, he was excellent at prospects camp. He, along with about 3 others made me finally feel like "wow, the future prospects are finally exciting!"

I love how the fans are more informed on Tampa prospects than whoever Hockey's Future had put the list together. I don't know if that speaks a ton about Tampa's fans or if it speaks a lot about hockey's future.

Which is why you need someone close to the team writing about the team instead of some slappy.

Just out of interest if you had total control of ranking them how would you list them?

I understand if you cant post it, but I thought I would ask in case.

And final question if you cant rank them at least tell me you put Helenius on your version? And if so who took him off?

I also feel the HF list reflects potential more then how close a player is to actually being in the NHL. That is why some disagree.
That's much better. I wish HF would let you do your own rankings.

This past season, if it was not for Panik getting injured he would have been a top 10 draft pick, with that said I believe he has more potential then Wishart. I know most players in the prior drafts players tend to be busts or do not live up to their potential But i still took him over Wishart. Wishart has played at the pro level in NA already. However, I really think he could use another stint in Norfolk getting top 2 defensemen minutes to have a siginificant impact with the Lightining. Trust me don't rush the process of young defensemen, I have seen it first hand from the Panthers.

Understandable, and good call.

I'm high on Panik, myself. So happy we got him, Carter, AND Hutchings.

Panik has more high end potential while having a higher bust factor. Depends on if you are drawn to risks or not.

The only thing I would change is Quick over Mihalik but I also don't see Mihalik having a long NHL career. I may be biased also since he was a Feaster special.

I also feel the HF list reflects potential more then how close a player is to actually being in the NHL. That is why some disagree.

Below is how I would Group & Rank the TB prospects. I've left intact the HF rank and grade, and added your rank in (), for comparison purposes.

Tier One
  1. 1. Victor Hedman, D – 9.0C (1)

    Tier Two
  2. 11. Steve Downie, C – 7.0C (3)
  3. 9. Ty Wishart, D – 7.0C (6)
  4. 4. Matt Lashoff, D – 7.5C (4)
  5. 2. Carter Ashton, C – 7.5C (2)
  6. 5. Dana Tyrell, C – 7.0C (8)
  7. NR. Riku Helenius, G (9)
  8. 3. Richard Panik, C - 7.5D (5)
  9. 8. Vladimir Mihalik, D – 7.0C (16)
  10. 17. Mark Barberio, D - 6.5C (missed)
  11. 6. Dustin Tokarski, G – 7.0C (7)

    Tier 3 & 4
  12. 15. Blair Jones, C – 6.5C (NR)
  13. 16. Johan Harju, LW - 7.0C (10)
  14. 12. Paul Szczechura, C – 6.5C (12)
  15. 10. Martins Karsums, RW- 6.5C (15)
  16. 13. Mitch Fadden, C – 7.0C (17)
  17. 14. Alex Hutchings, C – 7.0D (13)
  18. 18. Radek Smolenak, LW – 6.5D (18)
  19. 19. Lauri Tukonen, RW - 7.0D (20)
  20. 7. Karri Ramo, G – 7.0C (11)
  21. 20. Alex Killorn, LW - 7.0D (14)

BTW, I am high on Ashton but would need to see a little more of him to put him above some of those who have played more seasons.

I would be interested in seeing how others rank the TB prospect pool.
