Good to got some experience to Griffins. He and Janik are the only older defencemen there atm.
Jakub Kindl, 22
Doug Janik, 29
Andy Delmore, 32
Sergei Kolosov, 23
Logan Pyett, 21
Brian Lashoff, 19
Sebastien Piche, 21
Travis Ehrhardt, 20
lashoff is OHL bound.
kindl, janik, delmore, kolosov are locks i think.
pyett, piche, ehrhardt fight for the remaining 2 spots and i think there will be at least one more defender with a griffins contract.
i hope they don't plan to play kindl and delmore on one line. delmore has zero defense and i mean zero. but he's great from the point.
Good signing for Detroit. IIRC they signed him before and lost him via a waiver claim, so Detroit's obviously done a little homework on the guy and they think he's a fit in their organization.
I'd be surprised if he earned a spot on the Wings this year out of camp, but he's got a legitimate NHL offensive game and he could be a pretty valuable weapon if used like the blue line version of Jiri Hudler or Ville Leino.
At the AHL level he'll be a moderately dominant offensive weapon for the Griffins, and as they don't exactly have a ton of those he'll fill a pretty big need.
i hate to bring this up, but Delmore is a right handed shot. We know Babs loves to have a right handed shot on the PP, would Delmore fill that role on the 2nd PP unit replacing Sammy?

Oh god i think i'm gonna get sick if that happens
"He's got pro experience, he's from the area (Windsor), he'll help us in Grand Rapids,'' Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said. "We think he can run a power play at the AHL level.''
