How good are the Binghamton Senators?

The Binghamton Senators have been picked by some "hockey experts" as the team to beat in the AHL and that they will win the Caulder Cup. They have had an okay start to the season with 3 wins and 2 losses. Antoine Vermette is leading the team in scoring with 6 points, Josh Langfeld has 4 points and a bunch of other guys with 3 and 2 points.

These are the latest line combinations;

Hamel - Spezza - Stephens (humm, Stephens a centre playing RW)
Kelly - Kavanaugh - Langfeld (Kavanaugh a RW playing centre)
Potulny - Vermette - Bochenski (love this line)
Bois - Watson - McGratton (I wonder how Watson feels being on this line - Ouch)

So, will they win it all? If not then who will?

I think they are a bit overrated. I think Milwaukee and Hartford have better teams.

The Binghamton Senators are extremely good on paper. Whether or not they can work that out on the ice remains to be seen. To me, the undisputed best team is the Manchester Monarchs.

Norfolk has a really strong team, they have been the only team in the league so far to really outplay the Rats. If not for good goaltending it could have been 5 or 6 to 1.

The B-Sens are now 4-2. Jason Spezza and Captain Chris Kelly each had four points and Binghamton beat the Admirals 5-3 tonight.

I don't know how you can call them overated, they've added Volchenkov, Vermette, Spezza, Pothier, and Langfeld from Ottawa and signed Pat Kavanah, Brandon Bochenski and Jesse Fibiger.

If only teams with big names always won. They're overrated until they prove otherwise.

What big names? Spezza strikes me as the only one with a name outside of Ottawa really. And they just proved they're not overrated by beating one of the top teams in the league...so I don't get your logic.

It's pretty easy logic. Spezza, Vermette, Langfeld, Pothier. Those are all big name guys in the AHL. I think Binghamton has a very good team, don't get me wrong. But they have been hyped up so much I just don't think they're THAT good. I think they are a little bit overrated.
