If you're on 360 and want to get some games in whenever, my GT is the same as my name here.

What characters are you guys thinking of playing? Or are you just gonna use them all? I will say, it's hard to keep going from one character to the next because their movesets are so very very different.

I gotta say the game is harder than i had anticipated but its only gonna take a little time. I've taken a shining to Rachel myself and will prolly use her as my main character.

Rachel is a real ***** in the hands of a good player.

The most recent tier list I could find:

1) V-13 (aka Nu) : 11.5
2) Rachel : 9.0
3) Arakune : 6.0
4) Jin : 4.5
5) Carl : 4.0
6) Ragna : 0.0
6) Noel : 0.0
7) Litchi : -1.0
8) Taokaka : -1.5
9) Haku-men : -3.5
10) Bang : -7.0
11) Tager : -15.0

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...=0&output=html

or a different one:

S (Nu-13, Arakune, Rachel)
A (Jin, Carl, Taokaka)
B (Litchi, Noel, Ragna)
C (Haku-men, Tager)

http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6275

But keep in mind that these numbers are just the impressions of top players, which characters have the advantages over others. V-13 is the obvious first, and Rachel and Arakune have similar (but less powerful) advantages due to their ability to have a lot of projectiles on the screen at once. A Noel player (HeartNana) just won the BlazBlue tournament at EVO in Vegas... But he is an American who lives in Japan so he has playing the game a lot longer (and against better opposition) than other Americans. Within the tournament, he PERFECTED an Arakune player three times in a row, but he also got perfected by MikeZ's awesome Tager (the most obvious lowest ranked character).

Besides, the tiers are meant for high level players. Most of the players you'll be playing online aren't good enough to really bring the most out of each character... I've been wrecked by many Tagers and even more Haku-men's.

Taokaka is generally regarded as the "S-Class killer" and in particular the V-13 killer because she has that awesome forward crawl where she can move forward under projectiles (like the freakin' swords that V-13 can materialize out of thin air with the Drive button) and her pouncing move is hard to hit with projectiles.

I think my next character is going to be either Litchi or Bang.

Yeah, Noel and Jin are the easiest characters to play and feel like you're accomplishing something with. Noel's Drive flows beautifully and it just looks sweet even if you're just jamming D... and Jin freezes people, is crazy fast and his special moves are really simple and straightforward. Online, you'll run into a lot of players who spam Jin's icecar, and Noel's drive over and over. Block, and punish. (remember that the icecar has two hits, the initial impact and then an overhead attack).

Hakumen is pretty slow and doesn't have a dash, and his attacks are pretty straightforward... He's the type of character who doesn't waste any movements. But if you can a few combos down you can dish out a lot of damage because he has crazy power. (I AM THE WHITE VOID! I AM THE JUST SWORD! I AM THE COLD STEEL!)

Tao is... Tao...

I use Bang online, and I don't win very often 48% and I can't for the life of me ever beat a Tager online but Bang is just too fun to play xD and btw, Bang install = Instant moral victory

I'm also around 48%, but use Arakune so you're doing a better job than I am... But that % has been going up recently so hopefully I'll break 50 soon.

Best Rachel player as far as I know. Pretty funny watching people try to get out of a corner only to get blown back into it.

I went something like 18-5 tonight, to bring my record up to 124-124 for an even 50% win ratio.

Alright, changed my order to the regular edition on pre-order. None of the gamestops have it in stock anyway, and I figured I would save a few bucks, plus I don't care for the extras (well, as far as I know anyway). Should ship in a few days.

It plays out the story that almost all 1-v-1 games contain. The greatest thing to happen to gaming was the 4+ player game. The combination of the rise and fall of a dozen people's fortunes creates an environment where skill is rewarded, but frustrations don't devolve into enmity.

well i haven't had a huge amount of time to play with work but i tried my first few matches online last night and didnt fair to well.
I was Tao and faced Jin twice and Noel once, though I should've beaten the Noel. I have a feeling that will be a recurring theme.

Jin and Noel, as I said in a previous post, are the characters that seem really hard to play against when you just start playing online because their moves are so spammable. With Jin it can be infuriating getting frozen over and over and then hit with the flying ice car over and over, and then having him use it to set up a 12 hitter. With Noel, her Drive combos link together so rapidly that until you're used to playing against it and blocking it, it seems really hard to beat. Once you get used to online play in general you'll find you will win more of those games that you "thought you should've won". A lot of it is all about learning each character's tendencies, because it's not like SF where the characters play similarly.

Haku-men can also seem like a real ******* at first too because of the sheer amount of damage that his C attacks dish out.

My order hasn't been shipped either, from buy.com and I preordered it! UGH! I'm moving this month too, so I'm not sure if I should even have them ship it here, but it depends on when the supposed stock date is. Annoying, why didn't they just make more copies?

They changed their minds, apparently it's July 31st now.

A bit more reasonable.

It's in stock at Amazon.com though it may take you longer to get it shipped, and not sure about the cost to ship to Canada. I have no idea when my item will be shipped. It's still "in the process of being shipped." I'm so very impatient.

edit: actually, it just says "Processing" yet I cannot cancel the order. UGH.
