I really like the law and how its interpreted, but I prefer public policy in general. I'd really like to work for a think tank or the government, in the ideal scenario.
I just finished undergrad, so I still have some time. We'll see. Any terminal degree would be an accomplishment.
Hello All, I have been reading this board for maybe five years, but finally decided to get an account and contribute in some way. My favorite player since before I could remember was Jeremy Roenick, I followed him from team to team, from Chicago to Phoenix to Philadelphia. Since he came to Philly, I have been a very passionate Flyers fan and look forward to seeing what our young core can do in the coming years. I could have easily switched teams during the year that shall not be named with star players such as Calder, York and Savage on the roster, but I continued to support the Orange and Black and will for the rest of my life.
Name: Ben
Age: 19
Location: Los Angeles, California
Favorite Teams: Flyers, Browns, Lakers, Dodgers
Most Hated Teams: Penguins, Steelers, SF Giants, Boston Celtics
Favorite players: Jeremy Roenick until I saw a young Flyers prospect of by the name of Mike Richards play for the Kitchener Rangers at the Aud against the Erie Otters in the 2005 OHL playoffs. (Richie had 4 points and the GW in OT).
Movies: The Big Lebowski, Dumb and Dumber, and Happy Gilmore

(sorry for the long first post)
First off welcome.
Secondly, the theater I work at just had "Lebowski Fest" there last night. A bunch of folks dressed up as the Dude, Walter, Donnie, The Jesus, etc. There was even a guy dressed as "the ringer". It was a good time, and I finally got to see the movie on the big screen. I can't remember if the guys who run the whole thing said they were just in LA, or if they were on their way there..... so yeah. There it is there.

Welcome to the boards!
I have to ask... you're from LA, but you saw a game in Kitchener? How the heck did that happen?
Thank you very much for the warm welcome, I appreciate it hope that I can contribute to the boards in some way.

I played hockey for 13 years and one of my team mates moved up to Kitchener with his family (he was originally from Toronto) during High School and I went up to visit him. Thankfully I went to the game where Richie played lights out offensively and defensively (which is almost always).

Thanks for the welcomes!

I first read that as you wanting to work for a "Gov't think tank". I was gonna say that with my experiences, that's an oxymoron. LOL
Welcome and good luck!
Welcome 97Flyers! I lol'd at your reference to the season we do not speak of.
My real name's James. I live in the rocking metropolis of Emo Ontario (23 hour drive from Toronto, a LOT closer to Winnipeg). Yes there really is a town called Emo. Yes we have some hillarious business names like Emo Drugs, Emo Sales, Emo Feed and so on.
I'm 33, have 2 kids (6 and 3), and the best wife the planet has ever seen.
I run my own logging and trucking company; at least until all the mills close which is happening a lot thnks to everybody buying non-environmentlly friendly harvested paper products (but that's another discussion all around).
I've been a Flyers fan since I was 6 or so. Hard to say how it started but I just can't quit. I don't have "A" favorite player but quite a few I've really liked over the years like:Brind'Amour, Desjardins, Gagne, Richards, Zeus, Podein, Hextall and Lindbergh all come to mind. I think my favorite Flyers team was in the shortened season when the Legion of Doom was first formed. For some reason I just loved watching that team. I remember thinking Patrik Juhlin was going to be the next big thing and fighting was just fun to watch in those days.
I've been lurking here for years but thought I'd finally join. I've been posting a little bit at PSF but for some reason now when I post it takes me back to the home page. Probably some stupid virus or something I guess.
Most Hated Team(s): Toronto, Penguins and the rest of the Atlantic Division (Patrick Division)
Favorite Player(s): Mike Richards and the rest of the team in that order.
Most Hated Player(s): Would be anyone who intentionally tries to hurt the Flyers.
NHL08 Top Line: Pass
Team: Just pick-up ball hockey with the guys on Saturday's in the fall/winter.
Position: Defense
Flyers fan since: The year they won the cup against Buffalo 1975. I had a Bernie Parent poster over my bed. Until my older brothers got jealous and tore it to pieces.

Awesome! Welcome! (Bernie's my hubby's favorite.. along with Zeus).

Hello Emo James
Patrik Juhlin was one of my favourite Swedish players, he did very well in the olympics 1994. I remember I was excited he was going to the Flyers and then... it didn't go that well.
Funny thing is that he is still active in the Swedish second division, trying to help his first club he played with (Västerĺs IK).
Team: I played High School for North Penn High School, #77
Also played In-house hockey for Ice World, #10 and #77
Position: Right Wing (Love the off-side wing)
Flyers fan since: 7. My aunt was watching a game and Lindros scored with like 4 seconds left to tie it, and then won it in overtime. Ever since then, I've watched and played religiously. Went to my first game in 07-08 against the Devils, and then right after that went to the last game against the Penguins, both shut-outs. And went to Game 4 against Montreal.
Hello all.
Erick from Quebec City. Old timer at 45. Flying to the WAC twice a year to watch games.
Quebec Remparts season ticket holder, saw a lot of Kevin Marshall and doubts he makes it.
Will keep you posted of any news regarding Gagne, Briere, Giroux especially.
Liked both picks from the QJMHL this year.
Looking for both Maroon and JVR to make it up front.
Flyers fan since: I started playing NHL video games. I always played with the Flyers. Absolutely loved Lindros and Leclair. Became a real die hard fan during the playoff-run in 03-04, since this was the first season/playoff I had the chance to see games on TV (just gotten satellite TV). Still gives me chills in the back to see Gagne's OT goal i game six against Tampa.

NHL09 Top Line: Que? I have SNES and play Super Mario Kart. Koopa is my boy
Team: Caledon Warriors
Position: Defense, although I'm on the LTIR and looking retirement straight in the eyes. I'm 'Hatchered'
Flyers Fan Since: Born in '78, my Dad was/is a die-hard Maple Leafs fan, but his favourite player was always Bobby Clarke (so we can forgive him, I think). IIRC, he owned a jersey. For whatever reason, I stuck with the Flyers and opted not to follow him and his Maple Leafs. I've been a fan since.
