Lashoff?

Anyone know what the story with Matt Lashoff is? He's a RFA, right? I never saw him on the arbitritation list of players.

I really liked watching him play last year and I hope he still fits in our plans.

He's not arbitration eligible. His options are to retire/KHL/sign his QO or try to work out a deal like Smaby did.

Ok. Thanks. When does he have to make a decision?

There isn't really a deadline. He can sign his QO today or hold out as long as he wants.

I don't care what anyone else thinks, Lashoff should end up being our #2 defenseman for a decade to come. Looking at the scouting report and some of what he did last year. If we trade him for nothing, color me very pissed off.

I agree. This kid needs to be in our organization. We were very fortunate to get him out of the Recchi deal and really shouldn't give him away because we "have" to. Let him sit with Wishart in the AHL for another year.

Does he have to pass through waivers? Isn't that the problem, he might not make the Bolts and he sure as hell won't make it through waivers.

My expectation is that we carry 8 for the first month.

Ohlund - Hedman
Meszaros - Ranger
Walker - Foster
Smaby - Lashoff

If we are injury free I'd see Hedman, Foster, Smaby, Lashoff rotating in. If we have injuries it will be easy to replace anyone.

Best case scenario is probably that Hedman, Foster, Smaby, Lashoff are all totally awesome. That frees us up to trade Ranger for a massive haul of scoring forwards.

If someone is not awesome, they are odd man out and placed on waivers.

Others =

Krajicek traded for a late pick.
Hale waived, clears waivers, plays in Norfolk.
Lundin waived, clears waivers, plays in Norfolk.

Norfolk has a strong D core of Wishart, Mihalik, Lundin, Quick, Hale, which should help the 2 young goalies of Helenius and Tokarski.

Kraijek, Craig, Lundin , 3rd

Rangers are going to move Zherdev

In this case its depth........Kraijek can make the top 6, Craig and Lundin can be spares or in Hartford/AHL.......are they on 2 way deals?

draft picks area always good

I think Lundin is going to surprise people. I could tell when he was on the big club he lost his confidence, but he has the tools to be a top 4 dman in this league if he finds it. Guess what, if last season was any indication in Norfolk....HES FOUND IT!!!!!

85% of the time. The 15% of the time he decides to play he is anything but useless. Lots of talent wasted there and it's really a shame.
