There has been non-calls back-to-back, one for each team from what I understood

It should be noted that earlier in OT, Syracuse had a non-call in their favour though. So fair's fair.

already have more pts in october this year than last year. 4-4-0-1= 9ts in 2003, 4-2-2-0=10 pts (with 1 game left) in october this year so far.

The only player on this team who can be proud of his performance is probably Yan Danis...

Horrendous performance by the majority, stole the win...

From the stats sheet and the couple of moments I heard, Thinel didn't have a bad game!

Dogs need to find more goal scoring from other then Plekanec/Locke, who have 7 of the teams 18 goals. Hopefully Higgins, Ott, Kostitsyn, Ferland, Milroy, Plante, Hainsey, Morgan start putting more pucks in the net. A win tomorrow and the Dogs are in first place.

Danis gets first star and hardest working player. He should get some early consideration for rookie of the year. .944 save %, 4-1 record this year, 6-1 career AHL record.

Sounds like they are having a team like the big team was before Julien took over. Shaky defence and great goaltendending saving their behind. Hopefully this will change team when Komi and Cote start playing and shot counts level. Its a good practice for Danis though.

Scoring will come its only eight games into season. I'm looking for second year players like Higgins Milroy and Ferland putting the puck into net more regularly. Cant have rookies Locke and Kostitsyn carry the weight although its nice to see they can help. Some serious growth potential there. Only too bad there was no room for Urquhart. And Lambert, is he the next one to pack his bags? Damn Stars contract. Without them there might be room for Urquhart, Flood or O'Byrne (or both) and other goalie prospect.

right , i still don't understand that move from Gainey; no need for the Stars players.Or may be he wanted to add more experiment players to the team but there were other ways to do that

A bit of everything really.. First, Dallas only sent a few guys over and they are some of their top tier prospects which gives Montreal prospects some quality players to play with. Second, Gainey was with the Dallas organization before so I'm sure part of it is PR and good will.

At least, it sounds like Danis is putting up a convincing argument for holding down a #1 job, with Ellis as the backup. Their records are starkly contrasting now. I think Ellis has had a fair early season opportunity to either grab the #1 job himself or make it a 50/50 split, but he has simply blown it. I hope the team can go with Danis as #1 (at least until or unless Ellis wins back some trust), and isn't in any way obligated to keep giving Ellis equal time when his performance doesn't merit it.
