DL traded one of our best defenseman at the time for Stoll and Greene. Stoll has been instrumental in impoving LA's face off percentage, gives the team shot from the point on the PP that is desperately needed and is fits DL's mold of character. I highly doubt he is going to trade him for a 3rd/4th liner with a penchant for misconducts (remember Sean Avery was on this team at the beginning of DL's tenure) and a defensemen that I admittedly don't know much about but is mentioned in lots of proposals.
EDIT: Carcillo is a entertaining player and somebody who'd probably be a fan favorite if he became a King but I just don't think DL has any interest and I can understand why.
Carcillo is a punk. He has some talent but can't seem to get his head together enough to stop taking stupid penalties. I think Gretzky envisioned him as a "McSorley type" in Phoenix. A tough guy with some skill to back it up. Gretz actually asked him last off-season to try and curb some of his minor penalties and start working on his skill game, but still be an intimidator. That obviously didn't work (he had less PIM's, but also less goals and less total pts. last year than the year before) so they shipped him out.
He is somewhere between Ivanans and Avery. More skill than Ivanans (S*@#, I might have more skill than Ivan and I can't even skate.) but not as much as Avery, yet he's almost as volatile.
Oh yeah, I love that shot of Zeiler knocking him on his head. Great Pic!

Reason: Forgot to ad this
Kings have 8 million commited to Stoll and Handzus and guys like Richardson, Lewis, and possibly King trying to land the 4th line center position...Maybe even Cliche too...I don't see them adding a center anytime soon.
I'm in the Clune camp. Leave the spot open for him to take away from Zeiler. If by December neither has stepped up sufficiently, then make a cheap trade with mid round draft picks to pick up a Carcillo type, although preferably someone without the name-drop value that Carcillo has in a trade. I still can't believe Carcillo was worth Upshall AND a pick in the first place, UFA or not.

Sorry, we dont know if Clune has legitimate NHL skills....at this point we know more about Zeiler.
Carcillo is a live wire-but brings more to the table then Clune or Zeiler.
We don't know about Clune's skills, but we do know he fought Fedoruk and Murray in the same pre season game and didn't get killed. He can scrap....he's been doing it since junior and before....
