Doctoring plastic blades for mobility on gym floor

My new blade tends to "catch" when I move it around, any suggestions?

I'm thinking glue a narrow strip of fabric onto it....

A long time ago (seventies) I played ball hockey on a wooden gym floor with socks over all the sticks. They slid well and the shots/ballhandling were not bad. At least everyone had the same thing.
