Theofanous/Sather relationship?

I read this Larry Brooks latest column:

"Of course, there had been no reason whatsoever for Sather to give Tyutin a contract of that magnitude, except perhaps that the defenseman was represented by Paul Theofanous, with whom Sather has an interesting relationship, to say the least."

I have no idea what Brooks is talking about. Can anyone shed some light on this?

found this on google: he apparently represented ozolinish, and used to represent Nylander. Nylander canned him after he agreed to a 3 year below market contract without Nylander's consent or something along those lines. Not sure what else he could be talking about.

Larry never liked the contract Sather gave Tyutin about 18 months ago.Larry is so wrong about this that it's scary. The Rangers signed Tyutin to a 4 year extension worth $11.375 million and wouldn't budge off their $2.75 million offer to Avery. That still seems to bother Larry. Theo represents Tyutin,Anisimov and Grachev. The Tyutin contract was one of the best contracts Sather has given out as Rangers GM.

Exactly... Got a good defenseman for cheap over 4 years. As soon as Sather finished Tyutin's and Girardi's contracts, I was thrilled. Brought back two good defensemen for nothing.

Man, I miss Toots. I wasn't on board with that deal when it happened and obviously now? Harumpf. I've been a HUGE Toots fan ever since i saw footage of him ( a buddy of mine had some of his games from Russia somehow) I knew he was going to be beastly. Then, we drafted him and I was in heaven.

Blah. Makes me dislike Zherdev even MORE now.

Don't be misled by the title. Besides letting Zherdev walk, Larry basically trashes Sather.

I think Larry needs some pamprin.

Toots is an avg. defenseman. He drove me nuts with his shot, misses the net a lot, fumbles with the puck to much too.
