Vaclav Prospal to Habs?

Today i received a email, In the email it said " What do you think of Prospal being on Montreal".

Then it went on to say "the to sides talked earlier today" and he believes that Montreal offered Prospal a contract, Worth 2 Million a year. He was not sure on the the length....

So is he Montreal's forward they were Looking for? Or were they just seeing how much Prospal was asking for?.

I don't know if this is credible, but still...

Prospal should have been acquired before the Draft so it would have made the Vinny deal easier.I believe he did play for Martin but with all this media crap about him calling Brisebois a frog I doubt he would wanna play here

I actually don't mind Prospal @ 2 million. Decent offensive talent, and he's got a little bit of an agitator in him.

That being said, I don't think there's room for him on our team, we have too many forwards as it is, and we're tight against the cap. I like him as a player, but pass.

Gainey doesn't have much cap room right now and still needs to sign D'agostini and Stewart which to me is a better investment then Prospal

This bogus site doesn't mean that it's a done deal, far from there.

Not sure why you quoted me as I point out that we don't have cap room and have too many forwards, but I agree with you.

Because this doesn't really deserve it's own thread, since I believe it was these people who said they heard sometihng on CKAC that wasn't true.

Uuh, no thanks. Fortunately that it's just a rumor.
I'd prefer to let a young player play instead of Prospal.

He should be giving the Habs a million dollars to let him play with them?

yuck.

edit: The again..he is due for a good year.

I'd only possibly do it on a 1 year deal at a cheap cost.

2M$ for one year? Why not. If Bob don't move and keep Plekanec, Prospal could take his place on the second line. Prospal and Plekanec as 2nd and 3rd line exchangeable centers would be better IMO than Plekanec and Lapierre. Or Prospal could play wing on the third line with Lappy and Lats if Pleks plays fine.

Seriously, why not?

08-09 : 45pts
07-08 : 71pts
06-07 : 55pts
05-06 : 80pts

Could give us at least 40 to 50 pts, which is good.

If we follow his career path, he's a lock for 70+pts next year.

Cammalleri - Gomez - Gionta
Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Prospal
Latendresse - Lapierre - Moen
Stewart - Chipchura - Kostitsyn

honestly why not?
