And Price and Halak don't have any POTENTIAL even though they've played in the NHL and have had a lot more success in the NHL?

I hope this is a precursor for a Halak trade to the Blackhawks. What do you Habs fans think would be a fair return for him?

I'm thinking something like this:

Halak

Brouwer + 3rd

Brouwer is a gritty player who can play on the top 6. He's young, and signed to a cheap contract. Plus the 3rd round pick, it seems like a fair trade for a back up goalie.

I like it, sounds like a decent proposal.

I have the feeling that Fernandez was offered a two-way a few weeks ago just like Sanford and maybe others goaltenders. I guess that Sandford accepted it and Fernandez declined it.

Anyway, why would the Habs offer a two-way to Fernandez if he is going to be the backup?
Exactly. Habs fans are getting worked up about nothing.

Hawks still in on Halak, but the Avalanche are also interested.
This is via ************* on Twitter...Take it for what it's worth. He's a better source than Eklund at least. I don't see the Avs going for Halak considering they just signed Anderson, and I doubt the Habs fans would want to see Budaj come over in a trade. I'm hoping there's some substance to this because i'd be fairly confident going into the season with a Huet-Halak tandem.

Halak has good potential, but I don't see why an NHL team would rate him ahead of Niemi/Crawford or other types. Not enough to trade anything of use for him, anyway. Habs are better off just keeping him than making any trade involving him. Like the Wild keep Harding. Wait for the right time, let him build more value, let the market reach a state that isn't supersaturated.
