I guess the same can be said about Adam Deadmarsh, born in Trail, British Columbia. Paul Stastny, born in Quebec City. Brett Hull born in Belleville, Ontario. All born in Canada, but played for the U.S. when it came to International play.

HOME LIFE!!! Didn't Deadmarsh do it because of his mom?

Yup. Duel citizenship just like Kozun. They all had duel citizenship, so it was there choice who they played for.

Who cares? I rooted for Canada in the WJC because it had the most Kings' prospects

If he was from anywhere in the U.S. except L.A., I bet we wouldn't care at all. Most of it, for me anyways, is not snubbing the country so much as it snubbing the city that birthed him AND drafted him, a rare thing in most cities, and a near impossibility for LA. We want him to be a good hockey player, and it would be nice knowing he has some pride for this city. Though this doesn't really disqualify him from having LA pride down the line.

Most of you completely missed the point, at least my point. I am not judging his ultimate decision. I am questioning the wisdom of saying it in the manner he did. It was dumb.

As a Kings fan I really admire his choice. He has chosen to compete against the top Canadian juniors heading for the World juniors on their own home ice. I think that says more than anything mentioned in this thread yet. He want to compete with the best in order to get to the NHL. He wants to play with, compete and learn from the best in his class. How can you not love this as a Kings fan.

And it is Brandon Kozun we are talking about here... Why bother about nationalities, like it would matter anyways.
Just my own opinion.

All good wishes

Guys; don't over react with this....like Deeder , Hull, and i'm sure many more, it doesn't really matter, it's where they feel more comfortable....we drafted him, let's hope one day he plays for us, and shows us that Dean wasn't wrong abt him....yes it was wrong what he said, but he's a kid, he'll realize that when he's older.....all i can say is ...good luck Brandon, and hope everythg goes your way...

No one is wishing him bad luck. . just a very tasteless comment. He could of said a thousand better comments to make than the one he made. . . we're allowed to be a little upset at that but don't take that as "**** this kid". . . just disappointment. I want whats best for Team USA. . .
